1 TCA COMMITTEE ACTIVITY MANAGEMENT PLAN (FY2013) Committee Name: Graduate Student Involvement Chairperson(s): Melissa Alvarado Date: 5/1/2012 STRATEGIC DIRECTION/STRATEGY: Expanding Leadership Opportunities Engage Volunteers Recruit graduate students at Galveston Professional Growth Conference (PGC) for volunteer work with TCA. Create list of students interested in volunteering. Create Purposeful Mentoring Host Graduate Student Breakfast at PGC. Will request door prizes for GSI breakfast from TCA staff. and TCA staff Host session targeting graduate students at PGC. Presentation titled, Posters, Presentations, Oh My!. The presentation will provide an overview of submitting presentations at professional conferences as well as provide information on becoming involved in TCA. STRATEGIC DIRECTION/STRATEGY: Optimizing Resources Maximize Technology Quarterly and as needed committee meetings will be held via conference call. August 2012 February 2013 Stay on Target Use doodle.com to schedule committee meetings. Develop and distribute survey of graduate students of counseling programs to assess graduate student needs via (survey monkey) and at PGC that TCA may be able to address. Create Purposeful Mentoring Host Graduate Student Breakfast at PGC. Will request door prizes for GSI breakfast from TCA staff. and TCA staff Host session targeting graduate students at PGC.

2 Research and identify specifics for a proposed resources section for graduate students on TCA website. Will be presented to TCA staff. March 2013 s Develop graduate student membership packet and send to all counselor education program contacts. Also have Packets on hand at PGC. Revise CAMP as necessary. September 2012 Maintain regular contact and updates with committee members via technological resources. Collaborate with Membership Committee to increase graduate student membership. Maintain a Strong Organization Host booth with Membership Committee at PCG. All activities were delegated at our initial meeting via conference call which took place on 9/13/2012. The majority of committee members will be present that PGC and will be working together. None at this time *Committee will be needing assistance with mailing out graduate student packets to counselor educator packets.* This includes the actual graduate student membership information handouts, envelopes, and postage. Also, the committee will be requesting items for door prizes at the PGC, Graduate Student Breakfast. Strategic Plan Update List activities that are underway, are complete or that will be completed between July September Strategic Direction: I. Expanding Leadership Opportunities a) Engage Volunteers Committee members have been assigned to various activities listed on CAMP b) Create Purposeful Mentoring Committee members are working together on various activities to take place at the 2012 Professional Growth Conference.
