1 Regional Director Job Description I. Duties The duties of the Regional Director shall include, but are not limited to, the following: Serves as (or appoints) Hospitality Chair of the Educational Summit held within the region with assistance from Regional Director-Elect Provides follow up reports to the ACCED-I office Manages the regional budget following the guidelines established by the Association (See Financial Guidelines) Attends the Regional Leadership Training at the Annual Conference Writes and submits article(s) with regional information for ACCED-I Connect Promotes membership by marketing the Association to non-members in the region Maintains regular contact with the Regional Leadership Chair and the ACCED-I staff liaison regarding activities and trends in the region Submits nomination(s) for ACCED-I awards categories with particular attention to candidates for the Volunteer of the Year award Serves as a resource to ACCED-I committees and project teams and provides information about regional needs and concerns Provides information, training and mentoring to the Regional Director-Elect Participates in Regional Leadership Monthly Conference Calls Participates in regular conference calls with the Regional Leadership and Board Liaison Chairs Conference & Events Committee with Regional Director Elect
2 II. Term of Office The Regional Director serves a term of one year after completing one year as Regional Director- Elect. The Regional Director serves a one-year term as Immediate Past Regional Director after completing one year as Regional Director. If the Regional Director is unable to complete his/her term, he/she will submit a letter of resignation to the Regional Leadership Chair and make plans to transfer all information to the Regional Director-Elect. III. Qualifications The Regional Director will have an Institutional, Individual, or Associate membership in ACCED-I for at least two years. The Regional Director must have minimum financial support from his/her institution or association for provision of telephone, fax and postage costs incurred during his/her term of office. The Regional Director is required to attend the Regional Leadership Training held in conjunction with the ACCED-I Annual Conference prior to assuming office. The Regional Director will complete a one-year term of service as Regional Director-Elect prior to assuming the position of Regional Director. The Regional Director will attend the ACCED-I Annual Conference. The Regional Director is financially responsible for his/her registration to the ACCED-I Annual Conference. The Regional Director shall possess leadership and organizational skills necessary to carry out the responsibilities of the office and to ensure success of regional activities and membership development. 3 Regional Director-Elect Job Description I. Duties The Regional Director-Elect serves to gain additional knowledge of ACCED-I under the incumbent Regional Director. The duties of the Regional Director-Elect shall include, but are not limited to, the following: Assists Regional Director (or appointed Hospitality Chair) with hospitality functions for his/her Region s hosted Educational Summit Serves as an ad hoc committee member when requested by the Regional Leadership Chair Promotes membership by marketing the Association to non-members in the region Works with Regional Director to submit nomination(s) for ACCED-I awards categories with particular attention to candidates for the Volunteer of the Year award Completes other duties as assigned by the Regional Director Attends the Regional Leadership Training at the Annual Conference Participates in monthly Regional Leadership Conference calls Participates in regular conference calls with the Regional Leadership and Board Liaison Chairs Conference & Events Committee with Regional Director II. Term of Office The Regional Director-Elect serves a one-year term as Director-Elect followed by a one year term as Regional Director, which is then followed by a one year term as Immediate Past Regional Director. If the Regional Director-Elect is unable to complete his/her term, he/she will submit a letter of resignation to the Regional Leadership Chair. III. Qualifications The Regional Director-Elect will have an Institutional, Individual, or Associate membership in ACCED-I for at least one year. The Regional Director-Elect must have minimum financial support from his/her institution or association for provision of telephone, fax and postage costs incurred during his/her term of office.
4 The Regional Director-Elect is required to attend the Regional Leadership Training held in conjunction with the ACCED-I Annual Conference prior to assuming office. The Regional Director-Elect will attend the ACCED-I Annual Conference. The Regional Director-Elect is financially responsible for his/her registration to the ACCED-I Annual Conference. The Regional Director-Elect shall possess leadership and organizational skills necessary to carry out the responsibilities of the office to ensure success of regional activities and membership development. 5 Immediate Past Regional Director Job Description I. Duties The Immediate Past Regional Director serves to share knowledge of ACCED-I and act as a mentor to the Regional Director and Regional Director-Elect. The duties of the Immediate Past Regional Director shall include, but are not limited to, the following: Provides information, training and mentoring to the Regional Director and Regional Director-Elect Attends the Regional Leadership Training at the Annual Conference, if able Writes and submits article(s) with regional information for ACCED-I Connect Promotes membership by marketing the Association to non-members in the region Works with ACCED-I Marketing and Communications Manager to maintain regional webpage on the ACCED-I site with current and relevant regional information Maintains regular contact with the Regional Leadership Chair and the ACCED-I staff liaison regarding activities and trends in the region Submits nomination(s) for ACCED-I awards categories with particular attention to candidates for the Volunteer of the Year award Serves as a resource to ACCED-I committees and project teams and provides information about regional needs and concerns Participates in Regional Leadership Monthly Conference Calls Participates in regular conference calls with the Regional Leadership and Board Liaison Chairs Regional Communications Committee II.
