Yes x No School Counseling Program Mission Statement The mission of the Riverwood International Charter School Counseling Department is to provide a comprehensive and developmentally appropriate counseling program that encourages the highest level of student achievement by advocating for the academic, career, and social/emotional needs of every student. By collaborating with parents, teachers, administrators and the community, we will equip students with the necessary skills to become confident and compassionate lifelong learners who positively impact our global society. School Counseling Program Vision Statement Belief Statement: The counselors at RICS believe: *All children can learn. They learn in different ways. *The developmental needs of all students are addressed through academic and social/emotional counseling and guidance. *Counselors help ensure a safe, supportive, and secure learning environment for all students. *The counseling team plans, delivers, and evaluates a comprehensive school counseling program to help maximize student achievement. *Data is used to help guide the development of the comprehensive school counseling program. *The ASCA Ethical Standards for School Counselors are used as the guidelines to help ensure appropriate choices when assisting students. Vision Statement: Our vision is for all students to have the academic, career, and social/emotional skills to be successful, contributing members of our nation and the world.

5 Page5 School Counseling Annual Calendar **The annual calendar should contain all school counseling activities that are coordinated and/or delivered by the school counselor(s). This includes, but is not limited to the following: Classroom counseling lessons, small group counseling, individual counseling (list in the year round section), parent nights, open house, student/parent/teacher meetings, standardized test dates, college and career nights, and other evening activities provided through the school/ community. You may use your own template for your annual calendar and submit it in addition to your action plan rather than filling out the information in this document.
