2 RESUMEE Sérgio Faias (b. 1978) received the undergraduate (5-year) degree in Electromechanical Engineering from the Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal (2001), Master degree in Mechanical Engineering (2006) and PhD degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (2011) from the Technical University of Lisbon. He is Professor at the Power Systems Unit of the Lisbon Engineering Superior Institute (ISEL), since 2001, teaching the thermal and hydraulic machines and power grids subjects. He is researcher at Center for Innovation in Electrical and Energy Engineering (Cie 3 ). His topics of research include energy and environmental analysis of power systems, renewable energies, energy storage systems, electric and hybrid vehicle modelling and simulation. 1.
