1 7th 10th October 2013, Hotel Le Royal Meridien, Hamburg, Germany TÜV NORD Akademie Invitation 8. International Symposium Release of Radioactive Materials Requirements for Exemption and Clearance
2 TÜV NORD Akademie Invitation 8th International Symposium Release of Radioactive Materials Requirements for Exemption and Clearance Scope of the Symposium Since 1998 TUV NORD has organized different symposia about the release of radioactive material from regulatory control. Especially, the international symposia in Hamburg and Wiesbaden were concentrated on the discussions of up to 240 clearance-experts. This was very successful for the process of harmonisation of clearance levels and release procedures. Meanwhile, the IAEA has given the revision of the International Basic Safety Standards (SS 115). For harmonisation and simplification it is planned to use the values for exemption also for clearance. This is the basis for the revision of the European Basic Safety Standards. As a lot of nations are interested in the requirements for the use of the planned regulations for exemption and clearance, TUV NORD will organize the 8th International Symposium from 07th 10th October 2013 in the Le Royal Meridian Hotel in Hamburg. Technical Excursions The following Technical Excursions are planned for 7th October 2013: 1. Repository Asse II mine retrieval of the radioactive waste from the former disposal facility being planned: bus will depart at a.m. from Hotel Le Royal Meridien 2. Eckert & Ziegler production of isotope sources and Rad- Waste Management resulting from the use of these sources: bus will depart at a.m. from Hotel Le Royal Meridien 3. Nuclear Power Plant Stade a NPP in the decommissioning phase: bus will depart at a.m. from Hotel Le Royal Meridien 4. Industrial Exhibition The symposium will include an industrial exhibition. Would you like to present your products and services as an exhibitor? For more information, do not hesitate to contact us. Please note in advance that the exhibition area is limited. General Symposium Arrangements The symposium consists of oral and poster presentations selected by the programme committee from submitted abstracts. Oral presentations will take place during plenary sessions. The conference language is English, a translation service will not be available.
