1 Ocean Heights Project Title: Ocean Heights Client: DAMAC Main Contractor: ARABTEC Consultant: Engineering Consultant Group / Ian Banham Contract Value: AED 122,000, Ocean Heights Tower is an 82 storey towering masterpiece with 680 apartments, strategically located at the entrance of Dubai Marina with easy access to nearby beachfront luxury hotels, including the 7-star Burj Al Arab, shopping arcades, beach clubs, golf courses, and other leisure facilities such as the Wild Wadi water amusement park. Offering a choice of one, two and three-bedroom luxury condominiums, Ocean Heights is one of the most exclusive contemporary waterfront addresses in Dubai, designed for the most discerning individual seeking a lifestyle of luxury and pampering. The main power supply is fed from the Dubai Electricity (DEWA) network to the dedicated substation on the ground floor. There are 14 transformers rated 1500KVA each in the substation. The LV Room contains A MDB (LV Panel), with 11 of them being connected to a bus duct to feed power to different levels. One back-up generator of 1500KVA is provided for maintaining essential power supply in case of a main power supply failure. Various types of luminaries are used. The parking and podium area has fluorescent light fittings in use, whilst in the lift corridor down lights are utilized. Common area lights are controlled by a lighting control system. Exit and emergency lights are connected to a central battery emergency system. The fire alarm system is as per the requirement of civil defense authority, and is monitored by the civil defense through an auto-dialing network. The telephone network connection is from EITC (du), and design is as per EITC design guidelines. The low current system consists of CCTV, PA, a music system access control system, and a video intercom system.

2 Infinity Tower Main Contractor : ARABTEC Client/Owner: Cayan Investments & Development MEP Consultant: Khatib & Alami Project Manager & Cost Consultant: Currie & Brown MEP Contract Value: AED 145,000, Brief Description of the project and DSI main role: Supply, installation, testing and commissioning of complete MEPD works which includes Air Conditioning, Ventilation, Plumbing and Drainage, Building Management System, Automatic Fire Fighting, Power & Lighting, Telephone and Data, Fire Alarm System, Video Intercom System, Central Emergency Lighting, CCTV, Access Control Security Systems, PA/BGM System & Lighting Control System. The contract was awarded by Cayan Investments & Development for the complete MEP works for the Tower. Infinity Tower is the world's tallest high rise building with a twist of 90. Each floor is rotated by 1.2 to achieve the full 90 spiral, creating the shape of a helix. The Tower, which has won numerous awards including best architecture in the world at the international property awards in London, is designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merill; who are known for their iconic landmarks such as the Sears Tower in Chicago and Burj Dubai in Dubai. At 330 metres, the Infinity Tower is the highest twisting tower in the world offers unobstructed views of Dubai Marina and the Arabian Gulf, incorporating a high-strength, reinforced concrete column superstructure that rotates with the twisting shape to create a helix. The tower will include a rooftop park, a health spa, a gymnasium, conference rooms, a cigar-room, a fully equipped nursery, an outdoor tennis court and other amenities.

They are responsible for the design and development of engineering drawings, plant & material selections, procurement, installation, commissioning and performance validation of mechanical & electrical chilled water process plant for the District Cooling System. Drake & Scull s scope of work includes the following: Design and construct 2 No. 40,000TR District Cooling Plants, in each plant. 8 x 2 lead/lag packaged chiller modules of 5,000 TR each. 8 Cooling Towers of 5,000 TR. Associated MV/LV Switchgear SCADA - plant control and monitoring system 7400 cubic meter ground water storage tanks 5,000 TR Thermal Energy Storage Tanks Operation and Maintenance for 2 years. The project is on-going and the completion dates are March 2009 and February 2010, respectively. Upon completion they will provide chilled water to the complete Motor City Development, including the A1 race track facility, commercial and show room buildings, residential buildings and town houses, F1 theme amusement park etc...

4 - On-Going Central Cooling Plant At Nad Al Sheba Race Course Client: Meydan Design & Build Contractor: Drake & Scull International Client Representative : TEO A. KING DESIGN CONSULTANT SDN Architect: Entec- Shankland Cox Limited Project Value: AED 313,000, Drake & Scull International is awarded the contract of Design & Build and 2 years Operations & Maintenance for central cooling plant at Nad Al Sheba Race Course. The Central Cooling Plant has a capacity of TR and upon completion will provide chilled water to the new Grand Stand Hotel, Royal House and Car Park that are being developed by Meydan. The plant is a steel structure with modern style façade consisting of ground, mezzanine and roof floor. Further, 4 x 5000 TR centrifugal chillers and cooling towers with relative other mechanical and electrical equipments. Thermal storage tanks are used in this project and the control of the operation will be managed by Scada system.

5 District Cooling System - Jumeirah Beach Residence Drake & Scull International Abu Dhabi, are appointed to undertake the design and construction of District Cooling System project for Jumeirah Beach Residence, a subsidiary of Dubai Technology Electronic Commerce and Media Free Zone Authority (TECOM) in Jumeirah, Dubai. Client: Dubai Technology Electronic Commerce and Media Free Zone Authority (TECOM) Project Manager: Mace International Ltd. Consultants: Maunsell Consultancy Services and Robert & Partners, U.K. Drake & Scull International are responsible for the design and development of engineering drawings, plant & material selections, procurement, installation, commissioning and performance validation of mechanical & electrical chilled water process plant for the District Cooling System. Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) Contractor Drake & Scull International Project Value: AED 285,000, Drake & Scull s scope of work includes the following: The project plant has the capacity of producing a total of 60,000 tonnes of chilled water. Drake & Scull International to provide the supply of the distribution Energy Transfer Stations (ETS) for the connection of the system into numerous buildings utilizing the District Cooling System. The project requires a high level of technical and logistical management from the project team and central office Procurement & Engineering Departments. Design and construct a 60,000 ton District Cooling System 24 Chillers of 2,500 TR each 12 Cooling Towers of 5000 TR each 10,000 cubic meter water storage tank 10 Kilometer of 48 and 30 diameter preinsulated reticulation pipe work Energy Transfer Stations for 42 Tower Blocks and individual metering and billing system to approximately 6,000 housing units. 6 District Cooling System - Residential Area Plant Industrial Area, Musafah Client: The General Industrial Council of Abu Dhabi (GIC) Client s Advisor: Tabreed, Abu Dhabi Engineering & Design: EMCOR Drake & Scull Group plc., U.K. Consultant: W. Atkins & Partners Overseas Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) Contractor Drake & Scull International Drake & Scull International were responsible for engineering, procurement and construction of the Residential Area Plant to supply 7200 tons of chilled water to an 8000 person accommodation area presently being constructed at Mussaffah in Abu Dhabi. Project Value: AED 77,190, Distribution pipework consists of 1km of 750mm dia steel pre-insulated HDPE covered, 7km is 500mm dia steel pre-insulated HDPE coated and 35km of various sizes of HDPE pre-insulated HDPE covered pipes. Civil works includes ground improvement (vibro stone columns), piling (12m drilled reinforced concrete), reinforced concrete, structural steel, cladding and architectural finishes, roads and plantings, along with the trenching associated with the laying of 43km of under ground pipework. Main Contractor Khansaheb Civil Engineering (LLC) Consultant Ian Banham & Associates Consulting Engineers Project Value: AED 25,000, Drake & Scull were responsible for the development of engineering working drawings, Plant & Material selections, Procurement, Installation, Commissioning and performance validation of mechanical & electrical chilled water process plant, Public Health Services and general MEP Services for the Tabreed District Process Cooling Project on Sheikh Zayed Road, Dubai. The project plant has the capacity of producing a total of 21,000 tones of chilled water. This first phase has process plant installed to produce 7,500 tones with all of the service infrastructure installed to receive the additional chillers and pumps as required. Drake & Scull provided the complete mechanical and electrical building services including: Air Conditioning Lighting Fire Alarm Fire Fighting Programmable Logic Controller (PLC System) Security Systems Electrical Distribution (11KV/3.3KV/0.4KV) Lunar Drake & Scull provided the supply of the distribution Energy Transfer Stations (ETS) for the connection of the system into numerous buildings utilizing the District Cooling Service. The project program was fast track by nature (14 months duration) and required a high level of technical and logistical management from the project team and central office Procurement & Engineering Departments. The project and facility are considered to be a success by the Client and will be the flagship of its public service provision.

9 Dubai Festival City : District Cooling Project Drake & Scull International Dubai, is appointed to undertake the design and construction of District Cooling System project for Dubai Festival City. Drake & Scull International are responsible for the design and development of engineering drawings, plant & material selections, procurement, installation, commissioning and performance validation of mechanical & electrical chilled water process plant for the District Cooling System. The project plant has the capacity of producing a total of 50,000 tones of chilled water. Drake & Scull International to provide the supply of the distribution Energy Transfer Stations (ETS) for the connection of the system into numerous buildings utilizing the District Cooling System. The project requires a high level of technical and logistical management from the project team and central office Procurement & Engineering Departments. 10 District Cooling Plant-Dubai Air Port Free Zone Authority Client: Government of Dubai Dubai Airport Free Zone Authority (DAFZA) Main Contractor: Drake & Scull International Consultants: Parsons Brinckerhoff (M.E) LTD Architect: Brewer Smith & Brewer Gulf Chartered Architect Project Value: AED 24,000, Drake & Scull s scope of work included the following: Drake and Scull International were appointed as main contractor to undertake the enhancement of the Dubai Airport Free Zone Authorities existing central cooling plant and provide a new central water storage facility to be utilized for domestic water and fire fighting requirements as well as irrigation. The main objective while carrying out the project was to ensure minimum disruption to the end users connected to the existing utility services. The plant installed under this contract has a capacity of producing 4,000 tons of chilled water. Drake & Scull International were responsible for the procurement, installation, commissioning and performance validation of mechanical & electrical chilled water process plant for the District Cooling Plant. Installation of two new water cooled high voltage chillers 4000 TR capacity Installation of four new cooling tower cells Enhancement and modification of existing high and low voltage electrical systems Installation of new underground chilled water pipe work Installation of new pumped water storage facility with a capacity of over two million liters of domestic water and a capacity of more than one million liters for irrigation. The University is located in the heart of the Academic City on the road towards Al Ain. It provides the highest quality facilities for education purposes. The entire development is fully air conditioned and finished to a very high standard. 12 Jumeirah Beach Hotel The Jumeirah Beach Hotel is one of the most luxurious five star hotels on the Jumeirah Beach shoreline of Dubai. Part of the Jumeirah Beach Resort, it received the Condé Nast Traveler Award for being the No.1 Hotel in the World. This 26-storey tourist hotel, designed in the shape of a breaking wave, has 600 oceanfront rooms. Each room offers a minimum of 50 sq. meters which is larger in size compared to most international hotels. In addition to above, the development comprises Sports Pavilion, Marina Restaurant, Laundry and Pool heat pump installations. These facilities are served by a combination of independent dedicated services and project wide common plant/ distribution systems. The entire development consist of gross floor area of about 100,000 sq. meters. Drake & Scull International provided the complete design development, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of Mechanical, Electrical & Public Health Services for the 600 bedroom Tourist Hotel, Sports Complex, Laundry Building, Heating & Cooling of Pool, Automobile building and Gate House of seven star Burj Al Arab Tower Hotel. The services include a computerized building managements system, air conditioning, ventilation, a fire fighting and detection system, domestic water systems, drainage, LPG, water treatment, steam and condensate, electric power, standby generation, lighting, lightning protection, data/communications and security systems. Drake & Scull s commitment to quality, efficiency and security remains paramount. Thus the engineering services are controlled by a sophisticated building management system which activated remote plant, monitors the operating of all the systems and registers running hours and maintenance schedules. The entire building is protected by a computerized analogue addressable fire alarm system installed in accordance with BS5839. In the event of a fire the system gives the exact location of the activated fire sensor. Additionally, all public area lighting is controlled by a programmable dimmer system. User-friendly, pre-programmed, lighting provides flexibility for different functions. Complex microprocessors ensure the integrity of the whole system and provide default lighting in case of a power failure.

15 Wafi Residential Complex Drake & Scull International provided the complete mechanical and electrical building services installation to the Wafi Residential Complex, located in the heart of Dubai. The complex provides the highest quality accommodation and leisure facilities to a multi national clientele. The development consists of the mail residential building, end block, multi- storey car park, service compound and external leisure area. The main residential building is 11 storey high with offices, coffee shop, retail outlets, business centre and staff accommodation on the ground and mezzanine floors. The 10 residential floors comprise 124 luxury apartments ranging from 1 to 4 bedrooms with 2 penthouses with roof gardens located on the 11th floor. 16 Dubai Internet City- Phase I Dubai Internet City is the biggest Information Technology Centre in the Middle East and has the largest new generation Internet protocol telephony system in the world. It is a perfect hub for new economy industry - established IT companies, multimedia businesses, telcos, Internet start-ups, service companies, remote service providers, incubators, venture capitalists and professional firms etc. It is located on Sheikh Zayed Road, next to American University. The project is a public/private joint venture, which has more than 185 IT companies in four buildings covering 180,000 square feet of office space. Client Dubai Internet City with participation by the Dubai Government Main Contractor Al-Habtoor Engineering Enterprises Co. (LLC) Consultant WS Atkins & Partners Overseas Project Value: AED 72,000, In addition to IT companies office space, Dubai Internet City have Siemens Data Centre, Conference rooms, Public services like - Dome cafe, Food Court, Mini Market, Bank, Police Station and Cyber Cafes. These buildings are surrounded by a beautiful landscaping, lakes with fountains and a big car parking. Drake & Scull International provided the complete Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing services installation for the Dubai Internet City Phase I.

17 Dubai Internet City - Phase I Just 364 days after its conception the Crown Prince H.H. General Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum formally opened Dubai internet city. The launch took place in front of 2000 guests amid a spectacular display of fireworks and a laser light show. Microsoft s Bill Gates and many other top IT Industry figures from Hewlett Packard, Compaq, Master- Card and Oracle welcomed the opening via a giant screen internet link. The 15-megawatt Internet City is the biggest IT building in the Middle East, and has the largest new generation internet protocol telephony system in the world. The project is a public/private joint venture, which will house 185 IT companies in four buildings covering 180,000 square feet of office space. An additional 240,000 square feet of offices, including a stand alone building for Microsoft and Compaq is to be built on the side of the man-made lake. We began work in May 2000 installing full mechanical, electrical and public health services including the specialist services required for the US$30 million Siemens Data Centre. This tremendous achievement has further enhanced Drake & Scull s reputation for the speed and quality required for the fast track sophisticated buildings now being constructed in the Middle East. 18 Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club Architect Godwin Austen Johnson Main Contractor Al Naboodah Laing Consultant Robert Matthew Johnson-Marshall (RMJM) Project Value AED 64,000, Drake & Scull provided services to all parts of the 180-acre Dubai creek golfing/yachting complex which encompasses a floodlit driving range, 9-hole practice course, shop and golfing academy, a 45- meter high clubhouse with 5-star dining room, gymnasium and swimming pool. The complex also boasts a 115 berth marina that accommodates small dinghies to 80-foot long ocean going yachts. The Dubai golf and yacht club is a world class golfing facility in the heart of the city. The new course was built as part of Dubai s commitment to develop a tourism and leisure infrastructure as well as to confirm its reputation as a leading international golfing destination. For such an extensive and prestigious site, Drake & Scull s skill and expertise was essential. For example the distribution of water mains, telephone conduits and HV cables to 5 sub stations over the site was a major undertaking. The illumination of the driving range and 9-hole practice course alone involved the provision of 90,000 watts of lighting. The central plant for all services was housed in a separate energy building connected to the main club house by underground walkways. From these walkways the service areas feed up into the building through risers and false ceilings. Drake & Scull installed central Building Management System to control and monitor all the building services, ventilation, fire alarms, public address systems, gas leak detection and fire suppression systems, kitchen equipment, lifts and a full range of electrical services.

19 Park Place Client: H.E Humaid Bin Drai Architectural consultant: COX MEP consultant: SKM Project Value: AED 62,000, Main contractor: Higgs & Hill and Arabian Construction Co. Drake & Scull International was awarded the complete project and executed all the plumbing, drainage, HVAC, Firefighting system, BMS,Power & lights, switch gear,bus bar,lighting control system, CCTV system,access system, Audio/Video intercom,fire alarm system and central battery system works in an unprecedented unique and professional approach using the latest technologies. The MEP plant rooms were based on the Basement and on floors 19, 20, 57 and 58. Park Place Tower, a UAE architectural icon, is a 63 -storey mixed use tower built in the shape of a perfume bottle. The 236-metre skyscraper offers unprecedented facilities, including the longest swimming pool on Sheikh Zayed Road, the fastest lifts in Dubai, state-of-the-art security and safety systems and high-grade acoustic treatment. Owing to the design of the building, no two floors will be alike, giving commercial and residential tenants additional versatility. The tower also features a 10- storey secure parking lot, landscaped gardens and designer fittings.. The MEP plant rooms were based on the Basement and on floors 19, 20, 57 and 58. The DSI on-site team worked on the project by liaising with all the internal departments and working closely with the company s offsite teams from Engineering, Procurement, Planning, Quality control, Account and Central Store Depts. With this exceptional team work, guided by the management vision and strategy, Drake & Scull was successful in completing the project within the specified time frame and in coordination with the main contractor.

20 Between the Bridges Resort Drake & Scull International provided the complete mechanical, electrical and plumbing services installation to the Between the Bridges Resort in Abu Dhabi. (BTB) Drake & Scull International (LLC) was responsible Design & construction of the five star resort hotel compromising of: 220 bedroom conferencing facilities health spa retail component 10 restaurants. 22 Emirates Golf Club The legendary Emirates Golf Club has hosted the European PGA Dubai Desert Classic tournament since its inception and is the only Golf Club in the emirates with two 18-hole Championship grass courses. The jewels Twin Towers proved to be one of DSI s prestigious projects and remarkable triumph, as the project team faced a few difficulties during the execution of the project due to the towers unique curved design which is reflected on the interior of the building as well. The irregularity in the shape meant that none of the floors shared the same size and design. This variety presented a challenge in itself due to the different layout of each flat. In addition, each duplex, villa, and penthouse has a private swimming pool and an outdoor Jacuzzi in the penthouses only. Through team work and close cooperation between all parties involved in this project including the Client himself, Consultant, Project Manager, and the Contractor Drake & Scull International was able to complete all the jobs successfully and deliver the project on time. 26 Accident and Emergency Trauma Centre, Rashid Hospital The 120-bed state-of-the-art Accident and Emergency Trauma Centre is based in Dubai's Oud Metha area adjacent to the existing Rashid Hospital. The advanced centre makes use of the latest technology and the newest principles in trauma centre architectural design. It is the largest and the most advanced freestanding trauma centre in the region. With a detailed disaster management plan in place, the trauma centre is built to cope with large-scale disasters and emergencies.the facilities spread over the 20,000m of a twostorey building, include six operation theatres, three resuscitation departments, CT scanning facilities, an intensive care unit and two radiology departments. Client: DOHMOS Consultant: Ian Banham & Associates Project Value:45,000, Drake & Scull contract involved the supply, installation, testing, commissioning and operation of the MEP systems. In terms of the demands on the MEP installation, hospital projects are among the most complex. The amount and the combination of services that are required are generally larger than in other buildings and consideration of the end-user plays a critical role. The products used in the project had to be carefully specified, with many specialist items needed, as hygiene is a top priority for the client. This scale and the need to maintain high levels of hygiene meant very close day-to-day coordination with the main and civil contractors was essential. All products installed were considered, from the largest plant down to manhole covers.

Residents can enjoy a host of the great facilities which are on offer, from the various swimming pools, gymnasium to the multi-purpose sports courts. The building also offers a nanny service as well as restaurants, shops and cafes. The project consisted on ground plus 29 floors and two basements. The building contains two, three, four bedroom flats, penthouses, and duplexes. The building has its own chilled water plant consisting of four watercooled chillers. It also houses gymnasium, swimming pool, and Jacuzzi facilities. The DSI team consisted of the Project Manager, and two Project Engineers. Although the team was small for a project of this size, it managed to successfully close the project. It was a challenging experience since there was more than one typical layout in the building. The project has a unique exterior design that it stands out compared to the buildings around it. The project is considered one of DSI s great accomplishments.

Services provided include close control air conditioning for the computer floor, flush floor trunking for greater flexibility within the office space and standby power for critical services. The chillers, pumps and diesel generators are located on the roof with a floating slab to preventing noise transmission from roof into the penthouse. 47 Dubal Condor Project - Cast House No.2 (Phase II) In Dubal, there were twenty six different buildings constructed on site. These buildings varied from administration buildings, amenities buildings, workshops, stores, sub-stations, control rooms, process buildings, laboratories and external works. In some instances, the MEP services were connected to existing systems where considerable co-ordination was required to successfully integrate systems and limit down time to existing facilities.
