My Thought Process and Reasoning Behind the Strategy

1 Thank you very much for purchasing my guide on Automated Betting Software, I sincerely hope that you enjoy exploring the strategies and discovering what betting bots can do. I also hope that the guide gets you thinking about what is possible and encourages you to develop your own ideas. I was asked by my promoters to share one of the automated betting strategies that I use on a daily basis...so here it is. Please do not share the specifics of this idea around as I'm unsure to what degree more users will affect its hitherto reliable performance. What I do know is that more users certainly can't improve matters. My Thought Process and Reasoning Behind the Strategy My starting point was looking at backing favourites, after all they win around 33% of all races and it is where around 80% of the volume of money is traded. Obviously simply backing every favourite is not the answer. To give some perspective, if you blindly backed the favourite in over 100,000 races you would lose more than 7% of your investment. From an emotional and psychological point of view, the highish win rate would feel reassuring, but collecting "winnings" fairly often is not what I'm interested in... I'm only interested in the bottom line...the net result. So where do we start? Well, there are favourites and there are favourites. There are heavily odds on favourites in 3 runner races and there can be 14/1 favourites in large runner handicap races. When analysing the historic performances of favourites from websites such as the excellent Adrian Massey, it is very easy to get bogged down in a quagmire of data. Variables such as race type, number of runners, odds of the favourite, distance in the betting to the second favourite,course, age of the horse, going, even the day of the week can all be filtered and re filtered until you distil the result down into what you believe is a winning recipe. In fact my starting point was none of the above factors...i started with a staking system. I was painfully aware through experience of the dangers and pitfalls of loss recovery systems but felt (feel) that if a sensible staking system is applied to a suitable strategy and with controlled drawdowns, there was potential for something interesting.

2 I wanted to back short priced favourites (because they win often) and I wanted a controlled staking system. Deciding the minimum odds range for the strategy was very easy. I intended using an incremental staking system and so I needed the minimum odds to be at least 2.0. Determining the maximum odds range was initially a bit more "finger-in-the-wind". I wanted to keeps odds lowish as I wanted to minimise long losing runs by backing winners. Using The Bet Engine betting bot in TEST mode, I trialled maximum odds of 2.50 and 3.0. After many week of recording results 3.10 seemed to be the optimum. So I was now settled on targeting favourites that were trading at and between 2.0 and With regard to number of runners and again using The Bet Engine betting bot in TEST mode, I trialed a maximum of 8 runners and maximum of 12 runners...a maximum of 12 runner races proved to be more profitable. I trialled a staking plan of betting 1 point on the first horse and if it lost placed 2 pts on the next horse and on every loser increasing stakes to then 3pts then 5 points and finally 8 points...so a maximum potential drawdown of 19 points per day...stopping the betting for the day as soon as a winner was reached. For us to lose there would need to be 5 consecutive losing favourites that started between 2.0 and 3.10 in races with maximum of 12 runners...if that did happen AND IT WILL..I would lose 19 points..but more often than not I would win every day...that was the idea. Running The Strategy One of the attractions of the strategy is that it runs automatically...you just turn it on in the morning. To run the strategy you need a betting bot and in my opinion The Bet Engine is by far the best out there for automatic bet placement...it can run up to ten different strategies each in LIVE or TEST mode...so you can (AND SHOULD) experiment away with your own ideas in TEST mode with complete impunity! 3 The Bet Engine Settings Settings for strategies can be loaded automatically into The Bet Engine by uploading a file. For those of you who would like me to simply e mail you the file for this strategy please contact me and I will attach it to an e mail. I am aware that not everyone would know how to "upload files" and so please find following a step by step screenshots on how to program the strategy into the bet engine. First of all tick the "horse racing" box as seen in above screenshot.then...

8 IMPORTANT NOTE PLEASE REMEMBER TO INITIALLY SET MODE TO "TEST" AS SHOWN ABOVE UNTIL YOU ARE HAPPY THAT THE BOT IS PLACING BETS CORRECTLY AND YOU ARE HAPPY WITH THE RESULTS Then...

9 Finally and to allow the XYZ staking plan to activate, you need to "enable recovery staking"... I think that is it..i think I've remembered everything.

10 IMPORTANT NOTES PLEASE REMEMBER TO INITIALLY SET MODE TO "TEST" AS SHOWN ABOVE UNTIL YOU ARE HAPPY THAT THE BOT IS PLACING BETS CORRECTLY AND YOU ARE HAPPY WITH THE RESULTS AS EVER ONLY GAMBLE WITH MONEY YOU CAN AFFORD TO LOSE AND DO NOT RELY UPON THIS STRATEGY AS AN INCOME.

11 Variations One of the fabulous attributes of The Bet Engine is the capability to try out ideas in TEST mode...it is very compelling. I strongly recommend that you explore your own ideas by trying them in TEST mode. You have nothing to lose and may stumble across a beauty. The process of thinking about ideas and getting the bot to perform them, will teach you a lot about automated betting software. To give you an example on how to try out other ideas,i would take the strategy I have given you and try changing the number of runners, and/or different price ranges. You should also experiment by changing the staking /stops around. For example if you are unhappy with the staking and the potential loss of 19 points, try altering staking to for example...instead of stopping at a winner a day get the bot to RESTART the betting cycle...these are just a few simple examples of what you can try. One specific variant of the strategy that I would suggest that you test (IN TEST MODE) would be to change the odds range to 2.00 to 2.50 as below:-

12 REMINDERS PLEASE REFER BACK TO THESE NOTES AFTER YOU HAVE READ THE BOOK I am aware that I have given you quite a bit to read and so I thought that I should give you a nudge with a few important reminders:- GRUSS GRUSS does not have the capability to place bets in TEST mode..but you can use stakes as low as 10p and I would strongly recommend that you set stakes to as low as possible when trying out strategies. When using conditional betting via GRUSS, please remember to use the maximum liability box to control and limit your liabilities. THE BETENGINE When using THE BET ENGINE please remember to try everything in TEST mode to make sure it is placing the bets (AND STAKES) that you intended. GENERAL Please be aware that the strategies in the book won t work all of the time they are merely a starting point for you. Some strategies will work well with certain betting market shapes, others will work well with certain race types etc experiment and log your results. Most important of all do not gamble with money you can t afford to lose!

14 AND THEN. SUMMARY The odds range has been changed to 2.00 to 2.66 The number of runners has been changed to Under staking I have put 1 in the wins box And a 3 in the losses box. I have altered the profit value to 0 Untick the carry forward staking box. As well as the above changes I have also changed the staking plan to just a 3 step cycle so maximum exposure is limited to 7.5 points per day. Please see following a screenshot showing the staking cycle.

15 Note that the staking is now.. 1..then 2.5.(two point five). then 4 so only a 3 step cycle with a maximum exposure of 7.5 points per day. Please remember to include the straight lines between the numbers when inputting values into the sequence box. PLEASE REMEMBER TO RUN IN TEST MODE.
