Mining companies know only too well the substantial costs associated with unscheduled down time on conveyor operations. The conveyor idler is one of the highest consistent downtime causes on conveyors. While it is impossible to prevent idler failures, it is possible to control their financial impact with the PDS Idler Management Module. 6 Wear Management Remove the guesswork around predicting life for components that wear Being able to predict the life of a wearing component has long been the challenge of businesses. A lot of technology has been developed for measuring the thickness of a wear surface, but not a lot of technology has been developed to analyse this valuable information. The PDS Wear Management module allows users to not only collate all this data into a single tool, but also can predict when critical components need to be replaced. The PDS Wear Management module is currently being used across multiple sites and companies within the coal and iron ore industry in Australia, our software tracks over $250 million of belt stock with one miner alone.
