WHAT WE DO Nextgen Group is a leading provider of network connectivity, data centre facilities and cloud services for Australian businesses, government agencies and telecommunications service providers. We deliver innovative and customised solutions to our customers, keeping them at the forefront of technological change. We own one of the country s largest data networks and continue to build upon our infrastructure and service capabilities. Corporate credentials Originally established as Nextgen Networks in 2001, Nextgen Group has played a vital role in the evolution of Australia s telecommunications services markets. In particular we have delivered game changing solutions to federal and state government organisations, the media sector and the mining industry. We are 70% owned by Ontario Teachers Pension Plan (OTPP), which has $US130 billion in net assets and is one of the world s leading investors. The remaining 30% is held by Leighton Holdings, a major Australian construction and engineering company. These owners provide Nextgen Group with the financial strength and stability to continue to invest and service Australia s leading corporate and government organisations. 5 National Network We operate one of Australia s largest and most sophisticated networks. It connects to Australia s mainland capital cities and to regional and remote areas, connecting communities across the country, including Alice Springs, Cairns, Coffs Harbour, Dubbo, Mackay, and Tennant Creek. As part of this we also established Australia s first national Virtual Private LAN Service (VPLS) network. 9 For medium, large or government organisations, Nextgen Group offers total infrastructure solutions from the ground to the cloud that deliver meaningful business outcomes. Network Services Nextgen Group s network services meet the data networking requirements of enterprise, government and service providers. Our connectivity capabilities centre on our high performance, wide reaching network. It allows our customers to connect to key resources, no matter where they are, without bandwidth constraints. In operation for over a decade and supported 24x7 by our Service Management Centre The network offers a 99.95% service level agreement and speeds of multiples of 10 Gigabits per second Currently upgrading the inter-capital network to 100Gbps capability. The first phase of this, a 17.2 Terabit per second ring between Melbourne, Sydney and Canberra was completed in July 2013 It was the first national network in Australia to offer VPLS (Virtual Private LAN Service) capabilities Offers Ethernet-wide area networking on both a wholesale and retail basis Data Centre Services We work with customers to provide data centre services that meet their business objectives. We own and operate leading facilities, ensuring security, capacity and availability requirements are met. Our facilities complement our network services with five standard and three high density data centres available across Australia. 11 Business Markets The Business Markets group is focused on medium to large corporate customers, across all industry verticals. It helps customers to improve the efficiency of their overall IT spend, by leveraging Nextgen Group s network connectivity and managed facilities. This allows customers to focus on their core business offering rather than focusing on their infrastructure technologies. Wholesale and Channels Nextgen Group s Wholesale and Channels team offer carriage service providers, IT organisations and internet service providers with wholesale connectivity solutions and unconstructed space, enabling them to house their own service offering. As a long-time carrier s carrier, Nextgen Group has a history of delivering exceptional customer service and treating our wholesale customers like partners. With competitive pricing and direct access to 24x7 support, the Wholesale and Channels team provides customers with the support they need, when they need it. Enterprise and Government The Enterprise and Government markets group is focused on major enterprises in selected industry verticals as well as government organisations, including federal and state departments. Their highly consultative approach allows them to understand the complex operating environments of each customer and the implications of the solutions we provide. Our enterprise specialists use their engineering heritage to design solutions that meet business needs.
