35 The department has been involved in initiatives for furthering collaboration between LUMS and other centers of excellence. It is part of exchange agreements sponsored by the Third World Academy of Sciences. One grad student visits Abdus Salam International Centre the Centre for Advanced Studies in Mathematics (CASM) in Autumn Quarter CASM also hosts postdoctoral researchers and visiting mathematicians from abroad.
