Any extras, drinks, tips, invitations, telephone calls, and extra breakfasts shall be charged to the riders, in addition to surcharges for double bedrooms. Competitors will be responsible if they change their bookings on arrival at the hotel. GROOMS Meals: free-of-charge from the evening of the 6th November to the evening of the 9th November. Grooms will be housed free-of-charge in the Fair dormitories, equipped with sufficient bath/toilet facilities (hot and cold showers for men and women). Applications for accommodation in the dormitory must be sent before 07 th October. No reservation for accommodation will be made for grooms if the OC is not informed by this date. 3. HORSES Transport expenses to be paid by the OC competitor. Accommodation in boxes for the horses of the invited riders will be made available by the O.C. from 5th November to 10th November free of charge. Horses will be stabled inside the hall. Horses will receive free straw bedding for the whole duration of the show. Those who require bedding other than straw, and fodder, must send such requests together with the definitive entries; the relevant charges must be paid in advance directly to the Stable Secretariat from 8 am to 11 am

23 Considering the limited number of larger boxes available, NFs that require them for their horses are kindly requested to inform the O.C. when submitting the nominated entries. Stables will be allocated on arrival (but please make special requests with definite entries). Stables must be cleaned every morning and litter must be placed in the bins before 8 am. The O.C. must be informed by 20 October of any riders intending to bring non competing horses. A charge of 100 will be levied for each non- competing horse to cover stabling costs. 4. WELCOME The time and date of arrival of riders and horses and their means of transport must be given to the OC in order to facilitate them on arrival Horses may enter the Fair area strictly through: Door I on from 7.30 am to 8 pm on from 7.30 am to 8 pm Horses will not be allowed to enter the stables outside these times. No horse may leave its box without the number assigned to it and, in any event, may not leave the area under the control of the Stewards without their authorisation. 5. ADVERTISING AND PUBLICITY ON COMPETITORS AND HORSES (Art ) Competitors are authorised to carry the logo of their personal sponsor on the saddle cloth in accordance with art The Chief Steward will check that the advertising and publicity on competitors and horses complies with article 136 of the General Regulations

24 VI- MISCELLANEOUS 1. PRIZE GIVING CEREMONY At the end of each competition, the first eight competitors shall enter the main arena for the prize giving ceremonies. Fieracavalli Prizes of Honour: Cup to the first three classified participants in each competition. Rosettes and stable plaques to the first eight classified in each competition. The prize-giving ceremony for the ROLEX FEI World Cup (competition n.8) will be organized by the Organizer as follows: 1. The arena is totally cleared of all fences. 2. The winner and the placed come in on horse. The horse of the winner already carries the blanket (if any), and all have the ribbons. Normally only those in the jump-off attend the ceremony minimum 3, maximum National anthem of the winner. 4. Congratulation to the winner and the placed. 5. Victory gallop, led by the winner. All leave the arena. The composition of the line-up at the prize-giving ceremony must include the following persons: Sponsor s representative Rolex representative Organizer s representative FEI World Cup Director or an FEI representative delegated by the FEI World Cup Director. Royalties, FEI Senior Officials (Foreign Judge), President of the National Federation, Members of Government, and the Mayor may also attend the prize-giving ceremony. The winner and the placed are strictly determined in accordance with the FEI rules and regulations. 2. DEDUCTIONS FROM PRIZE MONEY The O.C. shall withold from total prize money, an amount of 20% deductible according to Italian tax laws - 9 -

25 DISTRIBUTION OF PRIZES AND INDENNITIES (Art.130) Cash prizes will be designated at the end of each competition and may be collected at the Fair cash-desk on the day after the competition. The prizes of the last competition(sunday 9 November), shall be designated at the end of the last competition.(please advise name and address of bank as well as the A/C number). A minimum of 6 cash prizes will be distributed. 25% of participants per competition must receive a cash prize. 3. INSURANCES The O.C. declines all responsibility for material and physical damage, accidents or illness suffered by owners, competitors, grooms and horses in any circumstances, inside or outside the Show area, during or after the competitions. Therefore, all participants are recommended to check if their personal, third party-individual responsibility, accident, sickness, etc insurance polices are valid: - for sports activity - the country where such activity takes place Damage to vehicles, harnessing, saddlery, stable equipment and other objects, (including theft and loss damages) as well as damage to the stable and to the grooms caravans are not covered by the OC Insurance Policies. All horse owners or competitors are personally responsible for damage to third persons caused by themselves, their employees, and their horse. All riders and owners are, therefore, strongly advised to take out third-party insurance providing sufficient cover for participation in equestrian events at home and abroad, and to keep the policy up to date. 4. 28 THE FEI CODE OF CONDUCT FOR THE WELFARE OF THE HORSE The Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI) expects all those involved in international equestrian sport to adhere to the FEI s Code of Conduct and to acknowledge and accept that at all times the welfare of the horse must be paramount and must never be subordinated to competitive or commercial influences. 1. At all stages during the preparation and training of competition horses, welfare must take precedence over all other demands. This includes good horse management, training methods, farriery and tack, and transportation. 2. Horses and competitors must be fit, competent and in good health before they are allowed to compete. This encompasses medication use, surgical procedures that threaten welfare or safety, pregnancy in mares and the misuse of aids. 3. Events must not prejudice horse welfare. This involves paying careful attention to the competition areas, ground surfaces, weather conditions, stabling, site safety and fitness of the horse for onward travel after the event. 4. Every effort must be made to ensure that horses receive proper attention after they have competed and that they are treated humanely when their competition careers are over. This covers proper veterinary care, competition injuries, euthanasia and retirement. 5. The FEI urges all involved with the sport to attain the highest levels of education in their areas of expertise.
