PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE Southern California Small Satellite Coalition Coordinator July Current Bringing together small satellite contractors to pool together resources and create new programs through a coalition that aims to utilize the power and innovation of small satellites. Coordinating the meeting place, guest list, content, and agenda with all small satellite contractors throughout the Southern California area to capitalize on our power. AIAA Lost Angles/Las Vegas Events Coordinator June Current Inviting guest speakers for a monthly dinner meeting where the audience learns about new aspects of the aerospace world, AIAA members can network with their fellow colleagues, and keeping the South Bay Los Angeles and Las Vegas AIAA chapter aware of the newest innovations that arise. I started a mentorship program to engage our young professional and student members through enriching program experiences as well as respond to their needs through monthly surveys at our dinner meetings. Kauffman Foundation January 2012 June 2012 Global Scholars Program Meet and engage with leading scholars and thinkers, policy leaders, innovative researchers, and business founders. Learn from fellow aspiring entrepreneurs from other countries who likewise aim to build companies with global vision and global reach. Visit leading universities to exchange ideas with faculty, students, and those engaged in innovative, entrepreneurial work. Experience a three-month entrepreneurship internship at an innovative company, and understand the real-life challenges and rewards of entrepreneurship. JPL Planetary Summer Science School July 2011 Served as the Project Manager for the VenUs Lander for Composition ANalysis (VULCAN) mission at the Jet Propulsion Team X laboratory this past July. There I worked with a team of 18 colleagues to create a Venus mission in a week using concurrent engineering tools that allowed the room to integrate the entire mission from science and mission goals to instrument selection and spacecraft blueprints. I managed costs (budget of $650 M) and environmental constraints. As project manager I presented the
6 NASA review panel with the final presentation for VULCAN selection. Mission received a Category 3 rating with comments for further development of proposal process. INNOVATE: Globalization and Technology Innovation Conference March 2010 INNOVATE is a conference that takes students from multiple universities to see how globalization has affected business. The group first traveled to Vietnam for a week and then onward to Taiwan. In preparation for this trip, we read multiple books on the effects of globalization on companies. During this trip met with the Vietnam ambassador, multiple companies, charities, and technologies companies. NASA Student Ambassador January 2010 Represented NASA at various student ambassador to the Un-Conference at the last Shuttle Conference. Open to s and conversations to other students interested in NASA programs and projects. Georgia Tech Graduate Technical Symposium Conference Chair March 2009 Served as the Georgia Tech Graduate Technical [GT] 2 Symposium Conference Chair in This consisted of raising $40,000 to bring students from Georgia Tech and the surrounding community to present their research to corporate sponsors. Lead a team of 15 people to coordinate the schedule, create a submission website, read and accept abstracts and finally judge the 2-day symposium. Mars Desert Research Station Crew 53 November 2006 Systems Engineer for the Mars Desert Research Station out in Utah. As the Chief engineer I was responsible to give the daily engineering report on the happenings at the Habitat. My specific project was to determine the system engineering aspect of adding technology to the Habitat. While there, I participated in the biology of placing and recovering slides to look for signs of life, rock geology studies to determine the nitrates found in the soil, participating in the psychological group work studies and implementing a communication system throughout the Habitat. Study Abroad in Germany February 2003-August 2003 I studied abroad in Dresden, Germany during my second year of undergrad. During this experience I traveled to most of Easter Europe and the Mediterranean while learning German.
