3 1. PRESIDENTS MESSAGE I would like to welcome all parents/carers, swimmers and officials to the 2014/15 swimming season. If you are taking your first steps into the pool through the Learn to Swim Program, I would like to extend a special welcome. At the North Sydney Swimming Club we pride ourselves on providing a warm and friendly environment in which we can pursue our sport. The Club caters for many different levels of ability and age, so please take advantage of any coaching available, the Learn to Swim Program and facilities the Club supports. If you have any concerns or queries, or even a suggestion on how we can improve your Club or have the contact of potential sponsors, please let me or any other Committee members know. The North Sydney Swimming Club prides itself on offering coaching to all its members. We have a fantastic coaching team led by head coach Stephen Badger of Badger Swim School. Stephen provides a n environment of challenges and also some fun. The fun isn t reserved for only the young - we cater for the more mature athlete as well, and offer competition for all ages. Our oldest swimmer is 63, so don t be shy - bring the cossie down and enjoy the fun! The North Sydney Swimming Club delights in being a club that is enjoyable to be around. To foster a happy Club atmosphere, we run a couple of social functions during the season and also try to offer a swimmer a breakfast on occasions. Please support these endeavours to help the Club raise funds, and to also help create a positive setting for the swimmers and their families. The North Sydney Swimming Club has a number of important Swim Camps to help develop swimmers into the future, so please take advantage of these programs, when they are advertised. The Committee is looking at this as a positive way the Club can develop and nurture swimmers into the future. The Swimmers programs have helped swimmers attend National and State Championship Competitions, and has paid for developmental courses for a number of these events. The North Sydney Swimming Club Committee has been stable and hard-working for a number of years. This season the Committee welcomes with some new members into its ranks, and we hope these individuals will assist in carrying the Club into the next period of its development. I trust you will enjoy swimming with us in the beautiful setting of the pool under the Harbour Bridge North Sydney Olympic Pool. Charles Thomson President North Sydney Swimming Club. Page 1 of 12
