3 Pre Registration (Online) Make sure that you are pre registered online (don t forget to upload a photograph) Register at the university Fill in the requested data in the green folder (available at the Registrar s Office) and on the data sheet which you can find in the green folder International Relations Office page 3/20

4 Data sheet in green folder, fill in only the left side. Visit the Registrar s Office with the following documents to register: Green folder and data sheet (filled in) Letter of Admission (for exchange students: Letter of Invitation) Passport After you have registered, you will receive three documents: the payment slip for the tuition fee (or student s union fee). Please pay it immediately (e.g. at post office, Hauptplatz 18). letter with your PIN Code for our online system your student card International Relations Office page 4/20

5 It takes about three days until the money for the tuition fee (or students union fee) is transferred to the account of the university, after that: You have access to your online account in the online system (online.unileoben.ac.at) (PIN Code) (see page 7) You have to activate your student card (at the Registrar s Office at the university) at the registration terminals (big black boxes) The letter with the PIN Code looks like this: Your Pin Code will be printed here International Relations Office page 5/20

6 Register at the Registration Office of the Municipality Visit the Registration Office of the municipality (Erzherzog Johann Strasse 2). For the registration you will need the following documents: Filled in Meldezettel (see form below), should be provided by your landlord Passport International Relations Office page 6/20

7 Activate your student card (possible about three days after you have paid the tuition fee (or student s union fee)) In front of the Registrar s Office, you will find the registration terminals (big black boxes). When you insert your student card there, a date will be printed on it, and the card will become valid. Choose Students, Enter your PIN Code here There you can change to English Enter your PIN code, your Matrikelnummer (= student registration number, e.g ), and your birthday, then SAVE. 9 How to register for courses Enter MU online Choose log in / log out at the yellow key enter your username (=m+registration number, e.g. m ) and password, then LOG IN International Relations Office page 9/20

11 There you can see the courses you are already registered for. Choose Course Registration, then you can search for the courses you want to register for (the easiest way is to search by course number). You can register for a course at the green T International Relations Office page 11/20

12 How to print your time table Enter MU online Choose log in / log out at the yellow key enter your username (=m+registration number, e.g. m ) and password, then LOG IN Choose Calendar, then you can see the time table for each week International Relations Office page 12/20

15 How to access your student webmail Through your student webmail, you will be informed about time changes of courses, place changes of courses,. University main page: Webmail Studierende Benutzername = User name (your student registration number) It is necessary that you check your e mails of your student webmail regularly, as time changes of courses or changes of location will be announced there. 16 WLAN Montanuniversität Leoben (in all university buildings) SSID: muleoben Password: Montanunivers After connecting to W LAN, open the webbrowser with any website. You will be asked for your registration number (m12..) and your password. The following day it will be activated. Internet access in student dorms (e.g. Student dorm of Akademikerhilfe) If you want to request internet access in your student dorm, you have to see the Call Center service desk. Please fill in the application form and drop it off at one of our team members. Service hours: Monday to Friday 10am to 12am Room 058 Building RWZ, Max Tendler Straße 4, ground floor Within two work days, you will get internet access. You need the application form, your student identity card, a copy of the identity card and the personal identifying information about the current residency (in Austria: Meldezettel). 17 Registration at Bezirkshauptmannschaft If you are a citizen of the European Union (it was not necessary to apply for Visa) and you stay in Austria for more than 3 months, you have to register at the Fremdenpolizei, Bezirkshauptmannschaft, Peter Tunner Straße 6. You have to bring your Meldezettel (confirmation of registration at the city hall), your student card, your passport, and your e card (confirmation that you are insured). 19 Print, Scan, Copy The student union offers copy machines which can be used by all students. The copies have to be paid by the quick chip which is on an Austrian bank card. (you have to have an Austrian bank account to use this service) The are 5 copy machines: office of student s union main building (new part), ground floor opposite the Mensa Peter Tunner building Akademie (ground floor) RWZ (ground floor) 1. Put in your bank card (with money on the quick chip!!)and register with your registration number or choose Anonym 2. You can Scan, Copy and Print 3. Follow the instructions on the copy machine Drucken = Print Kopieren = Copy 4. Scanned documents can be sent to an e mail address or saved on a USB stick 5. If you want to print documents from a USB stick you have to choose Zugang zu gesp. Dateien, choose the file you want and Druck International Relations Office page 19/20
