1 Oakgrove School Essential information regarding school PE kit Navy Blue Polo Shirt To be purchased from Sportswear International Reversible Games Jersey To be purchased from Sportswear International Year 7 Students From September 2014 there will be some changes to the school PE uniform. The kit now comprises of fewer items and there is now no longer a separate indoor and outdoor kit. We have also changed the named supplier of the kit; we will now be using Sportswear International ( who will be offering an online ordering and delivery service. Here is an overview of the new PE kit: Navy polo shirt * Reversible games jersey * Navy shorts ** Navy football socks Trainers Studded boots A gum shield Shin pads * Items that must be purchased from Sportswear International. ** Plain blue tracksuit bottoms can be worn instead of shorts You can either choose to buy all of the clothing from Sportswear International and receive all of the items together, or you can purchase the other items required from any other retail outlet. Please be aware that shorts, tracksuit bottoms and football socks should be as plain as possible. There should be no large visible logos or branding on them. Trainers should also be appropriate for a wide range of activities and provide appropriate grip and protection (they should not be canvas plimsolls). If elder siblings have passed through the school, we are aware that some students still may wear the old style kit. Replacing PE Kit (Years 8-11) Students in Years 8-11 will not need to immediately go out and purchase all of the new PE kit. 2 Studded Footwear Both boys and girls in Years 7, 8 & 9 will require studded footwear for their first activities in September and for a total of approximately weeks throughout the year. Studded boots can come in one of the following forms: studs, blades or moulded boots. These cannot be used on concrete and provide enough grip on the grass to ensure that students remain safe at all times. AstroTurf boots have smaller dimples on the bottom and provide very little grip on grass when it is damp or wet. These could be worn on concrete or inside. If these were to be used on wet grass, they would provide marginally more grip than trainers but not enough to keep students safe. Please do not spend more than for a pair of studded boots. There are many retailers in Central Milton Keynes that sell studded boots for as little as Studded boots Boots with moulded studs Boots with blades Dealing with kit issues If your son/daughter is not able to bring their full PE kit with them to their lesson, it is important that the following procedure is followed. 1. A note is written into their planner explaining the issue AstroTurf Trainers These are NOT suitablefor PE lessons 2. An appropriate alternative (where possible) is bought into school to wear. If this is not possible, your son/daughter will be able to wear a piece of spare kit without being penalised. Being excused from PE lessons If your son/daughter is to be excused from a PE lesson could you please ensure the following guidelines are followed: A note explaining the reason for your son/daughter not being able to participate in PE is written into the student s planner. Their full PE kit is still bought to lessons with them. We will, where appropriate, still aim to engage your son/daughter as much as possible within the learning that will take place in a lesson. This may not be within the role of a performer; it may be within the role of a coach or official. We will never put a student into a situation that will further aggravate any potential injury or illness. Wearing their PE kit whilst being excused from a lesson will prevent them from getting their uniform dirty and also keep it warm and dry to wear for the rest of the school day. 4 How To Size Your Child Our uniform and sportswear garments are generally designed for the best fit. For example, if your child measures 28 inches, then that is the size that we recommend that you buy. If your child is between sizes, then we recommend that you buy the next size up. Measurements such as height are a better guide than age in choosing the correct size, so if your child is taller than average, it is advisable to order the next size up on tops or trousers. Height: Without shoes, stand with feet together flat on the ground and measure from the floor to the top of the head. Chest: Place the tape underneath the arms and measure loosely around the chest at the widest point. After measuring your child, place the quantity you require in the box below the selected size of each item, follow the line along and complete the Total box. 6 Overview The Mail Order supply solution gives parents the ability to order Uniform and PE Kit 24 hours a day via online the SWI ordering system. Orders can be placed either online, by phone or post. We offer a school and home delivery service as well as an easy Returns System How to Order Parents/students can place their orders: 1. Online: 2. Simply visit our website and select the Parents & Schools Login link on the right of our homepage. -1-

7 New customers will be asked to register and follow the online instructions to link their account to a chosen school. Once you are registered you can begin to order straight away. All of the Uniform and PE Kit products will be displayed with an indication if the product is compulsory or optional. Adding items to the basket To add an item to your basket, click on the picture or the name of the product and the order form will appear. -2-

8 Simply type the quantity you wish to order into the green box and click the Add to Order button for this to be placed into the basket. Once you are ready to process the order click onto the Your Basket button at the top of the screen. You will be taken to the basket page to confirm your order. Click onto the Proceed to Checkout button to be taken to the delivery option screen. -3-

9 Select the delivery option and click Continue All orders require delivery notes. If the parcel is to be delivered to home these are the notes that you would like us to pass on to the carrier company if you are not home when they come to make the delivery e.g. Leave with in porch If the parcel is going into school simply type the students name and click Continue Payment can be made by Visa, Mastercard, Solo, Maestro. Unfortunately we do not accept American Express. Once you have made payment you will be given an order reference number. Please print this page for your records. Phone and Postal Orders The school will have paper order forms and a downloadable copy on the school website. If you wish to pay by cheque or do not have access to the internet then you can phone or post your order using the paper order form. Home Delivery Charges Orders over 70 are sent to home free of charge Orders under 70 sent to a home address (or other specified) incur a 4.00 delivery charge Orders sent to school are free of charge (see below) -4-

10 Delivery into School We operate a free of charge delivery service into school every week during term time. Orders must be placed by 5pm on the Friday for delivery into school the following Wednesday for collection on Thursday. This allows parents to avoid the delivery charge and makes it easy for students to collect their order from within the school. Returns and Exchanges Each parcel contains a returns form and the Freepost Returns address to SWI. We ask parents to obtain a proof of postage receipt from the Post Office which is free of charge. If there is an issue with the item being lost in the post we ask to see the proof of postage receipt. We offer a 30 day refund policy. If a customer is not completely satisfied with the garment will offer a 30 refund or exchange period.
