Gonzalo Wandosell Fernández de Bobadilla Brief description of the subject This subject studies the principals of management that are applied to the administration of human resources in sports entities, which are related to the planning, control, organization and the management of staff in the various activities that are necessary and essential for the efficient operation of the sports company. In this sense, leadership within any organization is the most important and relevant skill. This course focuses on employee empowerment, team dynamics and implemented processes to motivate and facilitate qualified employees towards the entity's goal. This subject is focused on students studying and experiencing self-management skills, group dynamics, techniques of problem solving, decision making, conflict management strategies and change management. Prerequisites No prerequisites are considered. Objectives of the subject 1. To respond to the current needs of the sports phenomenon, amongst which includes the specialization of sports management professionals in each of the specific areas of sport. 2. To achieve a knowledge of strategic and operative planning of human resources, organization and economics of sports organizations. Competencies and results of learning General competencies 3

4 G1: To acquire skills through the teaching-learning process that enable the continuation of training and learning in the field of sports management in order to establish contacts with teachers and professionals, in an independent manner. G2: To acquire and consolidate the initiative and entrepreneurship to implement projects related to sports management. Specific competencies S5.- To understand the different styles of management and the foundations of competency management, knowledge management and talent management. S6.- To understand and manage the concepts of delegation, leadership and institutional communication. S17.- To recognize the balanced scorecard as a management tool. S23.- To recognize undergraduate and postgraduate sports training programs. S28.- To reconcile the management of limited resources in an environment with high expectations. Results of learning (RL5) To define and distinguish between the different styles of administration. (RL5) To understand the foundations of competency management, knowledge management and talent management. (RL6) To master the concepts of delegation and leadership. (RL17) To develop a management scorecard. (RL23) To develop a training plan for sports entities. 4

Relationship with other subjects in the curriculum This course is closely connected to the module of Planning, Human Resources and Economic Management. Evaluation system Examinations in June/September - Assessment of workshops, exhibitions and discussions in class: 30% of final grade. - Assessment of final work and work dynamic developed in the seminars: 70% of final grade. Examinations in September/October - Theoretical-practical part: 100% of final grade. 5

Course recommendations Attend the classes and participate actively. Focus efforts on understanding the content of the subject. Have in mind the knowledge acquired from other subjects within the module of the foundations of sports management, in order to relate it to the topics covered in the current subject and therefore gain a comprehensive and informed knowledge. Use the established timetable, the Virtual Campus or to consult and share any doubts with the teacher. Consult the recommended bibliography in each subject and not limit oneself to only studying notes taken in class. The presentation slides are a guide to the subject, they are not the notes and it is not the unique content. In written work and tests marks will be subtracted from the final mark for: a) 0.2 for lack of accents, b) 0.5 for slight misspellings, and c) 1 for serious spelling mistakes. Didactic materials The didactics materials which are going to be used in this subject to facilitate the acquisition of skills are: 6

7 - Power Point presentations. The teacher will use a guide (not notes for the subject). The student should elaborate their own notes using all of the didactic materials that are described here. - Scientific articles, which will be shared on the Virtual Campus and will be related to each of the subjects. Forums and social networks (Twitter) will be used to ask questions for reflection and practical application of each of the articles. - Supporting documents, which will also be shared on the Virtual Campus or can be requested by students who search for them via information and communication technologies. - Concept maps and reports forum. 7
