4 Swiss Federal Constitution Article 75 Political Conception of Spatial Planning 1. The Confederation shall lay down principles of spatial planning. Spatial planning is the duty of the Cantons and serves to ensure the appropriate and economic use of the land and its properly ordered settlement. 2. The Confederation shall encourage and coordinate the efforts of the Cantons and shall cooperate with them. 3.
