Responsibilities: This highly administrative management position serves as the chief academic officer and Designated School Official (DSO) at an assigned campus and is responsible for its academic quality; responsible for hiring and start-up of academic affairs for a new campus. The Campus Dean works to maintain an academic atmosphere conducive to both staffing and learning. The Dean is responsible for ensuring and assessing student learning, improving graduation rates, timely scheduling and staffing of courses every quarter, resolving faculty and student concerns, and teaching. 4 Under the leadership of the Vice President for Student Affairs, managed and evaluated the department for SSS. Responsible for academic support, career development, counseling, two-four year college transfer, tutoring, and mentoring. Chair of the Orangeburg-Calhoun college retention team: Responsible for increasing counseling, tutorial, academic support for first generation, low income, and students with disabilities. Designed and developed policies and wrote student support grants and performance reports for submission to U.S Department of Education. Provided and implemented a comprehensive recruiting and marketing plans targeted toward high school students, parents, guidance counselors, high school administrators, local employers, and community organizations. Consulted with hearing officers and made recommendations for behavioral intervention plans.
