1 Australian Accident Repair Network 5 th November 2012 The Australian Accident Repair Network (AARN) was formed in 1996 allowing quality individual vehicle smash repairers to have a voice in an industry that has often silenced the smaller businesses. Today, AARN are a respected industry body able to offer valuable opportunities to their nationwide member base of like minded individuals in the panel repair industry. AARN have successfully formed an association based on fostering trustworthy relationships and quality systems and procedures. AARN strives to build its reputation in the industry as a body which demands the best locally, nationally and internationally in collision repairs! Ensuring its members are strategically positioned to take advantage of the opportunities as the industry faces the challenges ahead. The network is dedicated to implementing improvements at all delivery points along the value chain. The stakeholders in the chain being: The customers; Panel shop owners; Panel technicians; Panel support teams; Suppliers/Dealers/Vehicle Manufacturers; Financers & Insurers. 2 AARN Membership Guidelines: Membership is based on the highest quality standards in the industry and achieving The Five A s of AARN (ie Membership, Red A, Green A, Yellow A and Blue A). These standards are centred on the following critical areas: Customer service procedures; Automated purchasing and parts control; Workshop procedures and standards; Equipment usage and calibration standards; Approved insurance company relationships; Corporate and personnel presentation standards; Computerised estimating and accountancy systems; Quality management information systems and controls. Member Benefits: Value added products and services with on-going development of these benefits for members and their employees; Twice yearly AARN State Member meetings and seminars aligned to industry events; Business briefings including industry and relevant guest speakers; Bi-annual National Member conferences; Opportunity to network with other AARN members, sharing ideas and experiences; AARN Environment Policy - Green A; AARN Quality Assurance and Standards Policy - Red A; AARN OH&S Policy - Yellow A; AARN Quality Certified Training - Blue A; AARN s Corporate Members and Sponsors offering members added value and benefits to their products and services.
3 The Five A s of AARN: AARN Membership: Strict criteria are applied before panel shops can become AARN members. They need to pass a Body Shop Assessment Audit to ensure that the AARN Member Body Shop Standards are met and being maintained. This gives confidence that all members are of the same high standard. It also reinforces to the industry that AARN members are of the highest standards in the following areas: Environmental; Quality Assurance; Quality Training; Occupational Health & Safety. AARN Environmental Policy: AARN s goal is to minimise our environmental footprint working with staff and other stakeholders through pollution prevention practices in compliance with legal and other requirements. We want to be a role model for others to follow. Body shops who have achieved this accreditation have the green AARN Environmental plaque to display in their shops. AARN Quality Assurance: All members, new and existing, must achieve and maintain benchmark Quality Assurance Standards that meet the expectations of internal and external customers. Body shops who achieve this accreditation will get the red AARN Quality Assurance plaque to display in their shops.
4 AARN OH&S Safety: AARN have been pro-active in gathering information and working with external consultants to put together an OH&S system designed specifically for the Body Shop Industry. This will allow AARN to provide a useful and relevant service to members in the area of OH&S compliance, information and advice. Body shops who achieve this accreditation will get the yellow AARN OH&S plaque to display in their shops. AARN Quality Training: Our goal is to ensure that all AARN members receive current, relevant and up-to-date qualification training. Qualification tests allow professionals the opportunity to prove that they have the skills to perform the tasks required for proper, efficient and safe collision repairs. Body shops who achieve this accreditation will get the blue AARN Quality Training plaque to display in their shops. AARN, in association with its members, will identify training opportunities and technical advances for management, administration and technical staff to ensure its members can be at the forefront of change in the industry and to cope with required increases in productivity and improved work practices. AARN is a strong advocate for addressing Duty of Care in our industry. More than ever before, the vehicle manufacturers are adopting new technologies and different manufacturing techniques and materials. Body shops need to keep abreast of these technical changes. Hence AARN s desire to have its body shop members stay ahead of the pack and lead the industry in areas of quality of repairs, OH&S and industry leading technical skills.
5 AARN Corporate Members and Sponsors: AARN has corporate relationships with nationally recognised product suppliers here in Australia. We work with our Corporate Members and Member Benefit Suppliers, on a regular basis, to negotiate special Member offers. AARN also has a number of Vehicle Manufacturers and dealerships as Corporate Members. With ever-changing technologies being introduced in today s vehicles, it is more important than ever to build strong relationships with vehicle manufacturers and dealerships.
6 Corporate Objective To be a national network of well-respected, quality collision repairers that is committed to the pro-active co-operation of all stakeholders. This will be achieved by creating a culture that is conducive to identifying leading edge technology, professional excellence and the development of member s benefits, thereby contributing to the lifestyle of its members and their employees which will result in the highest level of customer satisfaction. As a result of the diligent implementation of its objectives, AARN will become known as The Accident Repair Network within our region.
