2 Gymnastics NSW Strategic Plan Executive Summary Mission: Vision: Core values: To promote, develop and grow Gymnastics for the enjoyment of all Enriching lives through Gymnastics Leadership, Teamwork, Respect, Excellence, Integrity This plan seeks to achieve the following objectives: Engage & Enthuse Advocate the need and benefits of participation in fundamental movement programs for all Australian children Build the Gymnastics brand Promote the sport through the delivery of high profile events Enable Grow the number and capability of the gymnastics workforce Strengthen club business models Increase access to education and development Engender a motivated, empowered and enabled workforce Excel Be viewed as a leader in sport WHS, child protection and integrity Maintain the most gold and most medals at the Australian Championships Contribute to National high performance outcomes Promote quality sport injury prevention practices Commit to the continuous improvement of existing programs Endure Build organisational capacity to better service clubs and the Gymsports. Promote local decision making under a strategic umbrella Enhance stakeholder relationships Ensure sound governance practices Implement sound strategies to address Association and club risks Implement strategies that promote a sustainable engagement with the sport 2

3 The key features of this plan include: Engage & Enthuse Design, plan and implement a promotion and advocacy strategy that increases public understanding around the need and benefits of fundamental movement programs for children Develop strategic stakeholder partnerships with education, health and government Develop and implement a targeted marketing, communication and engagement campaign Implement a TV commercial in Country NSW Design, plan and implement marketing strategies, social media strategy and public relations campaigns for targeted Gymnastics NSW activities, events and programs Design, plan and implement a spectator and promotional focused event At least one event conducted per annum designed to increase the promotion of the sport. Enable Three premier professional development events clubs, junior coaches, high level coaches Utilization of new and existing technologies Full implementation and adoption by Clubs of the new club quality assurance program Full implementation of the National CRM platform and competition management system Launchpad established as the sports foundation program Design, plan and implement; Coach & Judge recruitment strategies, member protection strategy, regions strategy, club financial education program, and club IR education program Design, plan and implement; Coach mentor program, Gentle Gym APP, Region facility plans, Whole school package, Leadership academy program and youth engagement programs Excel Sport injury prevention strategy implemented Partner with clubs for the implementation of WG, TRP and RG High Performance Programs. If proven successful implement similar assistance for ACRO and AER. Grow the MG High Performance Program International travel assistance expense offset through state fundraising scheme Maintain assistance for high performance and state team travel WHS, Child protection and Integrity strategies benchmarked against best practice Endure Centralization of region administration Balanced budget over four year forecast Design, plan and implement a Sustainable engagement strategy Through the implementation of these objectives and key features this plan seeks to achieve the following outcomes: Increase participation Strong Association Strong clubs Strong sport 3

4 Strategic Plan 01 Engage & Enthuse We will improve Gymnastics visibility and Share of Voice to reach and better engage with the gymnastics family and general community ACTIVITIES TRANSFORMATIONAL STRATEGY 2016 GOALS Advocate the need and benefits of participation in fundamental movement programs for all Australian children Conduct research into our customer needs and satisfaction. Develop and implement a communication and engagement strategy. Implement sportainment initiatives within targeted events Deliver an international Acrobatic Gymnastics event Implement a promotional campaign in regional NSW regarding the benefits of participation in fundamental movement programs Advocate fundamental movement as an essential life skill for a child's development and position Gymnastics as the primary provider of fundamental movement programs in Australian communities. ONGOING STRATEGIC INITIATIVES / PROJECTS Increase market share in organized sport for girls from 8 9% and boys to 3% Average registered member growth rate of 5% per annum Improved member satisfaction Promotion reaches 10% of states population Gymnastics is recognized as the primary provider of fundamental movement programs 1.1 Advocate the need and benefits of participation in fundamental movement programs for all Australian children - Increase public understanding around the need and benefits of fundamental movement programs for children - Develop strategic stakeholder partnerships with education, health and government bodies / agencies - Develop and implement a targeted marketing, communication and engagement campaign 1.2 Build the Gymnastics brand - Implementation of a TV commercial in Country NSW - Design, plan and implementation of marketing strategies, social media strategy and public relations campaigns for targeted Gymnastics NSW activities, events and programs - Design, plan and implement a spectator and promotional focused event 1.3 Promote the sport through the delivery of high profile events - At least one event conducted per annum designed to increase the promotion of the sport. 5 02 Enable We will improve the capability of gymnastics providers to deliver quality services and experiences to members ACTIVITIES TRANSFORMATIONAL STRATEGY 2016 GOALS Undertake a skills gap analysis Two Gymsport seminar / clinics Develop partnerships to provide a supply chain of coaches and other workforce Create a whole school package Region facility plans Implement Gentle Gym and Youth engagement programs Implement Club Induction Program Implement club Leadership Academy program Implement online learning Develop Gentle Gym app Build workforce capability for gymnastics through enhanced education opportunities, through coach recruitment initiatives, and by embracing new technologies that support workforce needs ONGOING STRATEGIC INITIATIVES / PROJECTS 2.1 Grow the number and capability of the gymnastics workforce 2.2 Strengthen club business models 2.3 Utilise new and existing technologies 2.4 Increase access to education and development 2.5 Engender a motivated, empowered and enabled workforce Increase the number of Technical Members by an average of 5% pa. 6 03 Excel We will identify and develop talent that will deliver podium performances for Australia at the Olympic Games, World Championships and Commonwealth Games ACTIVITIES TRANSFORMATIONAL STRATEGY 2016 GOALS Benchmark the sports WHS, child protection and integrity strategies against market leaders. Implement internal audit processes to improve service and product delivery Partnership framework agreed and being implemented in WG, RG and TRP $90K allocated for state team and high performance travel assistance Implement state fundraising scheme to assist clubs to raise funds for high performance travel Exceed member expectations and pursue excellence through high level service and program delivery and by benchmarking gymnastics services and programs against market leaders in the various areas ONGOING STRATEGIC INITIATIVES / PROJECTS 3.1 Be viewed as a leading sport in WHS, child protection and integrity 3.2 Partner with clubs for the implementation of WG, TRP and RG high performance programs 3.3 Grow the MG High Performance Program 3.4 Promote quality sport injury prevention practices 3.5 Maintain assistance for high performance and state team travel 3.6 Commit to the continuous improvement of existing programs Sport injury prevention strategy implemented NSW maintains the most gold and most medals at the Australian Championships International travel assistance expense offset through state fundraising scheme. 7 04 Endure We will build a sustainable business model to ensure the long term future for Gymnastics NSW ACTIVITIES TRANSFORMATIONAL STRATEGY 2016 GOALS Implement an integrity strategy Centralize region financial administration Audit child protection and WHS practices Draft a sustainable engagement strategy through consultation with the sport, regions and clubs that identifies ways to reduce the time, cost and other pressures related through an association with the sport. Develop and build an organisation structure that maximizes efficiencies through clearly articulated roles and responsibilities and delivers financial diversity through increased membership and the delivery of high profile profitable events.
