1 Instructions for Cohort 26 CCNY NYC Teaching Fellows Dear Cohort 26 Teaching Fellows: We welcome you to the City College of New York, School of Education Teaching Fellows Program. CCNY is located at 138 th Street and Amsterdam Avenue (one block east of Broadway). Your first day at CCNY will begin on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at 9 a.m. with an Orientation in the Faculty Dining Room. Please plan to arrive at 8:30 in case you have an unexpected transportation delay and in order to take advantage of our continental breakfast. At the orientation, you will be introduced to faculty and staff who will be working with the Teaching Fellows at CCNY and hear from present and past teaching fellows and take a brief tour of the campus. In the afternoon, you will begin your formal coursework. The Faculty Dining Room is on the third floor of the North Academic Center (NAC building). Please bring a Photo ID. Please enter at the north entrance to the building on Amsterdam Avenue (between 136 th and 138 th Street) at the doors on your left. If you enter at this door, you will already be on the third floor and can walk straight ahead to the Faculty Dining Room. Please anticipate a long day; it will end around 6:30 P.M. Travel Directions: A, B, C, or D Train to 145 th Street and St. Nicholas Avenue: Walk two blocks west (uphill) to Amsterdam Avenue; left onto Amsterdam to CCNY at 137 th Street (approximately 8 blocks) or; Take the CCNY shuttle bus Via 125 th Street (#2,4,5,6 Train): Take the westbound M100 or M101 bus to 135 th Street and Amsterdam Avenue (CCNY stop) or Take the CCNY shuttle bus at 124 th Street and St. Nicholas Avenue #1 Train to 137 th Street and Broadway Walk up 136 th Street or 138 th Street to Amsterdam Avenue M4 or M5 bus to 136 th Street and Broadway: Walk up 136 th Street to Amsterdam Avenue Note: We highly discourage driving to the college. There is no public parking on campus and alternate-side parking is in effect.
