Forensic Audio Noise Removal, Signal Processing & Speech Enhancement. Time: 10:00am 11:15am Presenter: Alan French CEDAR Audio Ltd. Forensic Manager. Alan French currently is Forensic Sales Manager with UK Forensic Audio manufacturer CEDAR Audio Ltd., based in Cambridge UK. Formerly a Technical officer with the London Metropolitan Police Forensic Audio Laboratory for close to a decade, he has extensive experience in Forensic Audio and related matters. Mr. French is well known around Europe and in particular in the UK Police and Legal Circles. With over 21 years of experience as an expert courtroom witness, he has dealt with thousands of criminal and civil cases, giving evidence in some of them and has received Police Awards for his work. More recently Mr. French has been instrumental in the introduction of some now widely-used enhancement techniques and equipment for this type of work. These largely have been based on the emergence of CEDAR Audio s Cambridge Technology as a very powerful integrated platform for Audio Forensics. He has trained and given guidance to many Police personnel in the art of making good quality tape recordings specifically related to organization s requirements for undercover recordings. He is now the Senior Audio Forensic Consultant and Forensic Manager at CEDAR Audio Ltd. The focus of Mr. French s presentation will be on real world applications of laboratory techniques related to cleaning up poor quality covert recordings. Specifically this will involve what types of processes are possible as well as how they may be applied in order to achieve optimum results. Mr. French will also relate this to some of his extensive experience at the front end of this area of technology within the field environment this will cover support of undercover agent recordings. 3 Biometric Speaker Identification, Large Scale Speaker Identification Databases & Automatic Speaker Identification Telecom Monitoring. Time: 11:30am 12:45pm Presenter: Antonio Moreno Agnitio S. L. Manager Security Voice Biometrics. Antonio Moreno is an expert in the subject of Forensic Biometric Speaker Identification. Mr. Moreno has been involved in this specialized area of Voice and Speech Biometrics from the inception of Agnitio. Responsible for all aspects of the Security technology the company is involved in, Mr. Moreno works closely with end users and is a world class expert in the application of Voice Biometrics in real cases of crime investigation. Mr. Moreno specializes in the instruction of Forensic Automatic Speaker Identification up to and including, how to present the evidence within a court environment. Mr. Moreno will be covering how non text or speech dependent technology is critical to tracking illegal activity in a country where perpetrators may speak a different language. The related ability to allow tracking and connection of complex Speaker relationships between criminals & terrorists is covered. Mr. Moreno has worked previously for three years prior to joining Agnitio, in the Research & Development Group of major Spanish Telco, Telefónica. He holds a Degree in Electrical Engineering from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. Mr. Moreno will cover a number of key areas in his discussion. These range from forensic laboratory use of biometric voice identification to the implementation and application of large scale national level Automatic Speaker Identification Systems (ASIS), (Equivalents of the AFIS fingerprint analogy), through to advanced telecommunication monitoring used to identify, log and alert authorized authorities that a target Speaker is talking on a specific monitored telecom line. This advanced technology is currently successfully deployed with criminal Investigation organizations as well as national intelligence agencies. Booth 110: Dr. Emilio Martinez Agnitio S. L. CEO and Chairman. Emilio Matrinez is a globally well known expert in the emerging technology of Biometric Speaker Identification. Mr. Matrinez worked from 1991 to 2000 in Lucent Technologies Microelectronics where he led the Operations and Research Team. From 1998 to 1999 he was Department Head of the Interconnect Group of Bell Laboratories (Murray Hill, USA). From 1999 to 2000 Mr. Martinez was Operations and Technology Director of the Lucent Microelectronics plant in Madrid (Spain). In 2000 he was appointed CEO and President of the Board of startup company Viaplus Tech. From there he moved on to become VP of Business Development of Group AIA over the period AIA is a company that specializes in unique security applications based on advanced proprietary algorithms. In 2004 Mr. Martinez went on to found Agnitio S. L. with other 4 partners where he is currently sits in the position of CEO and Chairman of the board. Mr. Martinez holds a PhD in Physics from Universidad Autonoma de Madrid where he was Assistant Professor ( ). A prior speaking engagement means that Mr. Martinez will only be available on Booth 110 on Wednesday 28 th through to Thursday 29 t where he would be glad to discuss any technical or other matters related to the subject of advanced biometric speaker identification. 4 Processing of Poor Quality CCTV & Intelligence Gathered Surveillance Video into High Resolution Enhanced Still Images. Time: 1:45pm 3:00pm Presenter: Laura Teodosio Salient Stills Inc. President & CEO. Laura Teodosio, a renowned Video Imaging Analysis Expert, is President, Founder and CEO of advanced Video Image Analysis leaders, Salient Stills Inc. For over 18 years she has been involved in the design and building of innovative software solutions involving images, media and information. She has blended her knowledge of media, video and software to conceive key features and original algorithms that are the technical base for the advanced VideoFOCUS Pro Technology. Working closely with many government and Military end users, Ms. Teodosio has been instrumental in the creation of a number of unique technical solutions designed to meet their complex imaging needs. These solutions produce high resolution Still Images from poor quality video sources such as CCTV and problematic Surveillance video, an area that is becoming more and more critical in the light of the current heightened security environment where CCTV is at the forefront of the battle against crime and terrorism. Ms. Teodosio holds a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from Yale University, a Master of Science Degree from MIT, and is the holder of both Japanese and US technology patents. The specific topic that Ms. Teodosio will be covering includes advanced CCTV and surveillance analysis of poor quality source materials that include current mobile phones as material sources. This will be referenced to criminal investigations as well as intelligence uses of the technology. Other topics covered will relate to the various differences between video enhancement techniques used within a forensic laboratory environment and will specifically cover criminal court presentation aspects. 5 Broadcast Quality COFDM Non-Line-Of-Sight Video Surveillance Transmission Systems & Wide Area Network System Design. Time: 3:15pm 4:30pm Presenter: Rob Bauer Broadcast Microwave Services Inc. Director of Marketing and Sales. Robert Bauer serves as the Manager of Worldwide Sales & Marketing at Broadcast Microwave Services, Inc., a subsidiary of Cohu Corporation, one of the larger CCTV technology manufacturers. Mr. Bauer is responsible for business development related to technically advanced Coded Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexed (COFDM) Video transmission applications. Mr. Bauer has many years of experience in industry specifically related to wireless technology companies. Prior to joining BMS, he was responsible for the product management of wireless multimedia applications at PacketVideo Corporation. Mr. Bauer also planned the development of third generation wireless infrastructure applications at Qualcomm, Ericsson, and Compaq Computer Corporation. Mr. Bauer earned a B.S. in Business Management from Boston University, an Ed. M. in Mathematics from Boston University, and a MBA from Golden Gate University. Mr. Bauer will focus primarily on the business and infrastructure considerations an end-user or organization must clearly understand related to the project management of advanced COFDM wide area city/country wide surveillance network projects. Presenter: Dennis Esteban Broadcast Microwave Services Inc. RF Specialist Applications Engineer. Dennis Esteban currently is involved in systems design of advanced Coded Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexed (COFDM) video technology applications, with special emphasis on Mesh Networking integration. Mr. Esteban has extensive experience in the design and support of small to large scale multi-protocol wireless networks. Prior to joining BMS he has been employed by wireless industry leaders such as Alvarion Inc, Trango Broadband, and IPMobileNet. His expertise in wireless networks is complimented with a strong background in Information Technology, where he was actively involved in IP networking with companies such as Sanyo Corp., SCT Corp., and the US Military. Mr. Esteban holds a M. S. in Telecommunication Systems Management with his prior Bachelor in Business Administration & Information Systems. Mr. Esteban will be presenting the technical scenarios of advanced large scale video surveillance networks that integrate video from air and ground sources using COFDM technology as well as specific integration with Mesh Networking technology utilizing fixed IP camera sources.
