Short-listed applicants will be interviewed to ascertain their English proficiency. Applicants must be enrolled in a comparable degree course in their home university. Successful applicants will be enrolled at Milan University as non-degree seeking students. The undergraduate programme in Linguistic and Cultural Mediation Sciences aims to provide students with an advanced knowledge of two foreign languages combined with a good knowledge of the relevant cultures, economics, law, and sociology. Thus, graduates will be able to provide inter-linguistic services in both public and private contexts, such as schools and vocational training centres, companies etc. PROGRAMME STRUCTURE The Degree Programme lasts years, with each year being divided into 2 semesters: from October to January (exams are approximately from mid-january to mid-february), and from February to May (exams are approximately from end of May to end of July). Courses Courses consist of: lessons, seminars, workshops (foreign language practice, computer training), professional training and an internship. Each course counts for 6 or 9 credits. All courses are taught in one semester (first or second), with the exception of the language courses, which are taught over two semesters. The following language courses are available: European Languages; Arabic, Chinese, Hindi, Japanese languages and linguistics.
2 2 - Master Foreign Languages and Cultures combined with the Social Sciences Languages and Cultures for International Communication and Cooperation The degree may be suitable to students from a variety of cultural and academic backgrounds in the field of Humanities and Social Sciences. Basic requirement: - BA in a relevant area (foreign languages and cultures) Applicants must already be enrolled in a Master course at their Home University. Successful applicants will be enrolled at Milan University as non-degree seeking students. PROGRAMME STRUCTURE The Degree Programme lasts 2 years, with each year being divided into 2 semesters: from October to January (exams are approximately from mid-january to mid-february), and from February to May (exams are approximately from end of May to end of July). Courses Courses consist of: lessons, seminars, workshops (foreign language practice, computer training), professional training and an internship. Each course counts for 6 or 9 credits. All courses are taught in one semester (first or second), with the exception of the language courses, which are taught over two semesters. 3 A variety of subjects in the area of Languages an d their applications in line with the interests of the department PhD Course in Linguistic, literary and intercultural studies in European and extra-european perspectives Applicants must already be enrolled in a PhD at their Home University. Applicants must submit a research project to the department for approval before they can be considered for enrolment. 1 The PhD course is run within the Department of Linguistic Mediation Sciences and Intercultural Studies and the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures. Its focus is on inter-linguistic and intercultural issues, which include history, geography, sociology, etc. Both interdisciplinary studies and research on several intercultural specific areas (European and extra-european as well) are encouraged Post-Doc A fairly wide range of subjects in the area of Languages and Mediation Sciences.
4 Applicants must already be employed in a post-doc position at their Home University.
