3 Welcome! The Massachusetts Educational Technology Administrators Association (METAA) welcomes you to our 2014 Massachusetts CTO Clinic, co-sponsored by the Consortium for School Networking (CoSN). Our conference theme this year is Innovative Orchestrating Ubiquitous Technology: Preparing for an Open Ended Future. The theme of this clinic will focus on the paradox: You know your schools' cultures, you know what they need, but how do you move forward? We'll answer questions including: Digital resources, ebooks, what are they doing? How do you choose a 1 to 1 device? How do you choose productivity tools? How do you develop the required infrastructure? How do you build an effective technology team? You will gain leadership ideas to take back to your district that will help shape technology innovation and contribute to meeting your district s goals. Our clinic opens with a welcome message from Mike Minihane, Board President, METAA. The program will then kick off with an Opening Keynote by Martha Heller, author of The CIO Paradox: Battling the Contradictions of IT Leadership, published in October The day will continue with two breakout sessions, allowing attendees to customize their professional development experience. This opportunity would not be possible without the support from a great group of vendor sponsors. Be sure to meet with the K-12 technology vendors who will be here at the clinic exhibiting their latest, cutting-edge products and services. We encourage you to share your needs and discuss the challenges you see in your district with our vendor sponsors. They may have just the right product or service to help you plan strategically. We trust you will find this day filled with opportunities to learn and expand your leadership. Again, welcome to the 2014 Massachusetts CTO Clinic!
