3 Biographies of Presenters Thomas Day MBA, CLU, CLRP Thomas is passionate about helping our senior population solve the problems that arise with aging. This passion spans from his experience dealing with a difficult condition in his senior years. The treatment he received for his condition from VA saved his life, and he was lucky. Without a good life resource plan, many seniors lose thousands of dollars from lifechanging events that might have been handled much more cost effectively had a plan been put in place. Now more than ever our country needs experts in life resource planning to aid our aging generation. After graduating with a BA in physics and math, later earning an MBA, becoming a pilot during the Vietnam war, and working as a financial planner for many years, Tom came to the full realization of his passion for helping aging seniors. In 2002, he then founded the web-based company The National Care Planning Council which allowed him to work with seniors and their children. For ten years, Tom has used his expertise in financial planning, long-term care planning, life resource planning and VA Benefits to help thousands of seniors and senior service care providers across the United States. As an accredited claims agent, Director and leading adviser for the National Care Planning Council, he understands the issues that are plaguing our seniors, and is here to help. With each year, comes a new idea and a new plan. The need for elder care will never diminish and neither will Thomas Day's presence in the evergrowing field of life resource planning. Robert Mauterstock MS, CFP, ChFC, CLTC Robert Mauterstock is a recognized expert in the fields of retirement income planning, long term care planning and veterans benefits. For thirty years he helped hundreds of families achieve a worry-free, comfortable retirement. He has also helped many families deal with the chronic illness of a family member, working to create long-term care plans using Medicare, Medicaid and Veterans Benefits, as well as providing awareness of other resources to protect family assets. After graduating from Princeton University, Bob served as a Navy helicopter pilot. He then went back for his Master s Degree in Education from the University of Connecticut. He holds the designations of Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) and Certified Long-Term Care (CLTC). An accomplished speaker and authority on financial concerns of the elderly, his program entitled Can We Talk inspires elderly parents to work together with their adult children to preserve their legacy.

4 Chris Merrill CLRP Chris has demonstrated a successful career in sales. He was the number one salesman for a national software company for many years before moving on to a position with a national insurance brokerage firm. Recognizing the need to be on his own, Chris chose to work with seniors and their families by providing long term care insurance. His working with seniors also led to a successful career selling Medicare advantage plans. He has been in the top tier of producers for a number of years. Chris currently works with the National Care Planning Council, assisting with national marketing solutions. Natalie Moyle MA, LAPC Geriatric care specialist, Natalie Moyle MA, LAPC has fifteen years of experience managing care for the aging population. She is a valuable resource as she educates, counsels and mediates. Her professional guidance offers peace of mind and helps families come together as they face important care decisions regarding their loved ones. Natalie can assess your family s situation and assemble a variety of services to address the needs of your loved one. She is careful to respect the uniqueness and autonomy of each individual client and delivers her services with sensitivity and proficiency. Enlisting the support of other family members to consult a professional is a good way to build a consensus on the solutions. It is also the best way to preserve precious family relationships. After years of helping people with family disagreements, she also realized the need and the value of mediation services. She received her certificate in mediation from the University of Utah which has one of the most respected programs in the country. Natalie is currently involved in providing badly-needed care management services in the greater Salt Lake Metropolitan Area. Bruce Lybbert BA, CLRP Mr. Lybbert is a Director of the Senior Veteran s Service Alliance and is actively involved in the organization's operations, strategic planning and financial management. A seasoned veteran of the brokerage industry and Wall Street, Bruce co-founded Tel America, Inc in 1982, growing it into a successful communications giant which became the largest regional long distance carrier in the western United States. Mr. Lybbert joined Refill Energy in 2006, as a Chairman of the Board. Bruce holds a BA in finance and marketing from Weber State University and pursued post-graduate studies in finance at New York University. He has been a director with the Senior Veteran s Service Alliance since 2011.

5 David Cole RIA, CLTC, CLRP David was born and raised in Northern California. After high school and college, David served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War as a combat historian with the 22nd Bomb Wing of the Strategic Air Command. After receiving an Honorable Discharge, David went on to build a successful employee benefits consulting firm in Central California (Frontiers Benefit Services), which was acquired by Wells Fargo in For the next six years he worked with Wells Fargo as Vice President, Employee Benefits Division in Rancho Cordova, California with a focus on 401k, Pension, and other employee benefit plans until he relocated his family to North Carolina in 2006 and established an independent advisory business focused on Retirement Resource Planning and the Long Term Care needs of Senior War-Time Veterans. David and his wife Shelley were married in Sacramento, California in July Their family consists of a yours, mine and ours with children ranging in ages from They reside in Apex, NC with their two younger children along with David s father, Gordon, who is 99 years young and very active. Shelley has worked in the insurance industry for over 17 years and built her own Third Party Administration company in California. After arriving in North Carolina she established Apex Health and Life. While her primary focus is raising their younger children, she is also an Accredited VA Claim Agent and licensed agent, and serves as an instructor for the State s Medicare Licensing Course. David also serves on the Board of the Cary Central Rotary, Director of the North Carolina Senior Care Council, and is active in his Church and community. Jed Winegar BS, CLRP Jed is an original board member and longest standing employee of the National Care Planning Council. Since 2006, he has worked alongside Thomas and Susan Day to help grow the council's membership base to over 1,000 individuals across the country. He is involved with many aspects of the council including web, sales, support, training, Life Planning, and VA Claims. Jed personally handled over 500 applications for VA Benefits in Jed is a VA Accredited Claims Agent, Certified Life Resource Planner and holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business Economics. He is an avid reader of The Economist, active swing trader, and a local scout leader.
