1 Western Wyoming Community College & Valley City State University Transfer Plan for Elementary Education Updated October 2012 The VCSU program has been approved by the Wyoming Professional Teaching Standards Board (PTSB) and successful completion earns the student program approval for a Wyoming Teaching Certificate. The VCSU program can be completed on the Rock Springs WWCC campus with no required coursework in other locations. Students in the WWCC outreach areas must travel to the Rock Springs campus for two weeks in June and two weeks in August and for three consecutive days in January to complete the coursework on compressed video, but otherwise can complete the classes without leaving home. The additional cost for outreach students for travel to campus and accommodations during the June, August and January compressed video sessions is the students responsibility. Be sure to include these costs in your planning. WWCC students pay the same tuition as North Dakota students. As of October, 2012, the tuition is $224 a credit hour. Completion of an Associate of Arts Degree Completion of an Associate of Arts degree following the WWCC Suggested Program for Early Childhood/ Elementary Education will fulfill the General Education requirements at VCSU. Specific classes included in the WWCC Suggested Program for Early Childhood/ Elementary Education ( ) are also required. These are: MATH 1400 * BIOL 1003 PSYC 1000 * MATH 1100 & 1105 PSYC 2300 * EDFD 1010 EDFD 2020 EDFD 2100 * ITEC 2360 *
