1 KCKCC Associate in Arts in Liberal Arts to Bachelor of Liberal Arts (BLA) Students completing a Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree must successfully complete a minimum of 120 credit hours, including 36 hours at the 300/400 level. At least 90 credit hours must be earned in the College of Arts and Sciences. At least 30 credit hours of coursework must be earned after declaration of intent to pursue a BLA degree. A 2.0 overall GPA is required for graduation. The credit/non-credit option is not available for students pursuing this degree. The BLA degree is separated into three divisions: Humanities, Natural Sciences/Math, and Social Sciences. To fulfill the degree requirements, students must successfully complete 20 minimum credit hours of required courses (in Communication, Math, Constitution, and Physical/Biological Sciences) and 100 additional credit hours of electives in the three divisions. At least 21 credit hours must be earned from each division; however, no more than 60 credit hours from any one division may be applied toward the BLA degree. Additionally, coursework must be taken from at least two departments in each division, with no more than 21 credit hours taken from any one department. The Associate in Arts degree (AA) at KCKCC partners well with the first two years of bachelor degree programs at. Students pursuing the AA may select courses that satisfy both the AA degree requirements and lower division requirements for a bachelor's degree at. Courses that can fulfill requirements towards the AA at KCKCC and the bachelor s degree at are marked with a symbol. The elective credits within the AA allow students to complete additional general education and lower division courses required for specific majors. The AA degree requires completion of 60 credit hours of academic work with a cumulative GPA of not less than 2.0. does not limit the number of credit hours that may be transferred from a community college and applied toward a bachelor's degree as long as requirements for general education and the major, as well as 36 hours of upper division credit, are met. Please note that any KCKCC courses that are equivalent to upper-level courses will not transfer as upper-level and will not count towards the 36 minimum upper-level hours required at. The final 30 minimum consecutive hours of the bachelor's degree must be completed at. Meeting with a KCKCC counselor is strongly recommended. For a full listing of course equivalencies between KCKCC and, go to: and click on Course equivalencies at the left.
