2 The conference goal is to bring together nursing and other health care experts to provide state-of-the-art information in nursing theory, perinatal clinical practice and policy. Developed by nurses for nurses, the conference focuses on continued clinical excellence and patient advocacy in the face of current restructuring and redesign in health care delivery. LEARNING OBJECTIVES Identify best practices to eliminate potential morbidity in perinatal patients. GOALS Develop processes that embrace Family Centered Care in the care of the pregnant woman and her family. Describe the implications for maternity care practice of current perinatal quality initiatives. TARGET AUDIENCE Perinatal nurses practicing in the areas of antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, home health, and neonatal nursing. ACCREDITATION This continuing nursing education activity has been submitted to the New York State Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center s Commission on Accreditation. GENERAL INFORMATION Contact Hours for Nurses 3 Plenary Sessions Choose 2 of 12 Workshops Exhibits Poster Presenters Continental Breakfast Maternal Child Health Award Luncheon Prize Drawings The 33 rd Annual Perinatal Nurses Conference, presented by the March of Dimes New York State Chapter Nurse Advisory Committee, brings together nursing and other health care experts to provide state-of-the-art information in nursing theory, clinical practice and policy. Developed by nurses for nurses, the conference focuses on continued clinical excellence and patient advocacy in the face of current restructuring and redesign in health care delivery. CONFERENCE REGISTRATION AND FEES: Register by mail, fax or . On-site registration is based on availability. Conference registration fees include admission to the conference, exhibits, poster presentations, program materials, continental breakfast and lunch. Checks should be made payable to: March of Dimes. CANCELLATIONS: Refund requests will be honored until March 19, 2011, a $50 service charge will be deducted, and refund checks will be mailed six weeks after the conference. REGISTRATION INFORMATION: A confirmation letter will be mailed to you, per your registration information. CONFERENCE SITE: The New York Academy of Medicine is located at 1216 Fifth Avenue East 103 rd Street. Registration is in the lobby area. PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION: The New York Academy of Medicine is accessible by the 6 subway train to 103rd Street and Lexington or log on to or to get detailed directions.
