1 AREAS OF EXPERTISE Health Education and Training Leadership and Management Clinical Practice Management Development and Implementation of Healthcare Policy EDUCATION Doctorate of Nursing Practice October 2011 Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing Case Western Reserve University Cleveland, OH Master of Science in Nursing 1992 Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing Case Western Reserve University Cleveland, OH Bachelor of Science in Nursing Columbia University New York, NY Bachelor of Science in English as a Second Language New York University New York, NY PROFESSIONAL and TEACHING EXPERIENCE Clinical Assistant Professor of Nursing Women, Children, Family Health Science Department, College of Nursing, University of Illinois at Chicago, 2014 Nurse Educator Human Resource for Health (HRH) Rwandan School of Nursing and Midwifery (RSNM) University of Rwanda Worked through HRH in Rwamagana, Rwanda with Rwandan and American midwives to develop a Bachelors of Science (BSN) with Midwifery Honors. Given Rwanda s high infant mortality and morbidity rates, we sought to teach evidence based care as an approach to maternal child health. Upon arrival, the midwives had one month to write the BSN curriculum, prepare courses, conduct research for the courses, and design a midwifery program for students taking classes in their third language. Working in Rwanda was the apex of my career; never before had I been in a position to use all my skills, clinical experience, and teaching background.
