1 Guerrilla Marketing Tactics Guerrilla marketing is what Multiply Marketing does best; Low Cost-High Impact Marketing strategies & tactics for use by small businesses and charities. Many of the tactics can be done without the support of a marketing professional, and if done as part of an overall marketing plan, will prove an effective tool and enhance overall ROI. Below are a list of tactics, along with hints and tips of how best to implement them. If you require advice or support, then feel free to contact Multiply Marketing. REFFERALS - Getting other people (generally your customers) to promote your business, products or services. This is the most effective type of advertising: people telling their friends. Create Brand Fans who share positive word-of-mouth online and offline Generating word-of-mouth and creating Brand Fans involves more than social media. Think about incentives or promotions to entice your customers to refer you. Create two-sided or folded business cards that act like "mini ads" Single sided business cards are a waste of money, for only a few s more, you can double your printed message Want people to go to your website or store? Then don't include your personal contact information. Instead, use the space to list your website address, selling points, hours, special offer. Hand these cards out to people you want to refer new business to you and use them at events and trade shows. Let every person you know or come into contact with know about your business. Have you sent an to everyone you know telling them about your business and asking for their business and/or referrals? Do the s you send include an signature with your contact information and website? Have you sent a letter and/or brochure to people you know who you think may be likely buyers of your products/services? Have you picked up the phone and called people you know who you think may be interested in what you are offering?

2 Are you leaving an "internet footprint"? Are you posting with links to your website on other websites and blogs in the comments area? You need to personalise each post to offer relevant information and tips and then include your name and website address. Some sites won't allow you to post your website address so just include your company name. Don't include your address or phone number. That will get you lots of spammers and telemarketing calls. Free Listings! If you don't have a website, then this is a really great way to get your company online. Many sites offer a mini website facility free of charge. (Multiply Marketing offers low cost web sites for small businesses.) If you have a website, then creating these listings on sites like Google Places and the many other sites that offer free listings. Learn all the places where you can create a free listing for your small business with a reputable site such as freeindex.co.uk Create colour flyers for as little as 10p per colour page by printing them yourself Colour printers aren't what they used to be. Now that they're designed to print colour photos that look as if they came from a photo lab, the print quality is good enough to also be used to print marketing and sales brochures, flyers, presentations etc. Printing yourself will also allow for personalised marketing promotions Write a letter / Press Release to your local newspaper and industry trade magazines Give advice, thank people or tell them about something "newsworthy." Offer to become an expert for the local press for greater publicity Aligning with a recent article in national news where possible Add images and contact details

3 Look for ads Google and Facebook are constantly running with offers of 50 or 75 to try advertising with them. Personalise your s to get noticed with stationery Create an signature with your website address, LinkedIn profile, phone number and even a photo. Include a line asking people for referrals. Or use stationery. o Meebl has templates for stationery that will make your s stand out from the crowd. o If you use Microsoft Outlook, check out the options from them for free. o PaperlessPost, Evite, Wufoo, Eventbrite and Facebook Events are also free or low cost ways to invite people to events, create forms and communicate in a more personal way via . Use professionally designed marketing templates for flyers... Templates are a great way to quickly and inexpensively create professional looking brochures, flyers, ads, blogs and even websites. There are free templates and templates you can buy for a low cost. Matching sets of templates will help offer a consistent look with big brand feel. Co-promote with complementary businesses Identify businesses that sell to the same type of customers. Contact them and suggest a co-promotion or better yet, work out a way to refer business back and forth to each other without a discount offer. Seek out potential strategic business partners in your community. Identify associations, non-profit organisations or non-competing businesses that would be a good "complement" to your business. Offer a marketing partnership with that entity -- in exchange for them offering a special discount promotion to their customers for your business, you can do the same for them. Insert a flyer with any invoices and in anything you send to customers Every customer "touch point" is an opportunity to cross-sell! Instead of sending an expensive catalogue, create and print 2- sided flyers.

They may scan s sent to them by companies they do business with. With Facebook and Twitter posts, people only see the most recent posts. Most people don't check Facebook or Twitter every day or every four hours so many will miss a post you've made. Contacting customers and prospects by , phone calls or text messages is less expensive (and more effective) than advertising. You should be contacting your customers in some way ( newsletter, phone call, invitation to an event, direct mail postcard, sending a text message, etc.) at least six times during the year to stay top-of-mind. Social Media Marketing Create a Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Google+ profile at the very least Think of these well-known social media sites/tools like radio stations. Some people like Facebook and will "like" (accept) posts you make from your Facebook business page. Other people love Twitter and many people think it's a waste of time. Some people use LinkedIn regularly; others rarely check their LinkedIn account. If you think of social media marketing like radio advertising, you know being on one station and only running an ad a few times won't work. You have to be on the stations your customers (and prospects) are on and advertise frequently. Same holds true with social media but you can post status updates and tweets for free. You need to be making relevant, interesting posts at least once a week, better if you post every day. Trade shows and exhibitions can be hit and miss. Instead of going to a trade show, buy the mailing list of the people who attended the show and send them information directly. Expand where you are selling Set up an online store on ebay, Amazon, Play etc. This is especially a good step before setting up a full e-commerce store Think seasonal too. What about selling at a kiosk at the local farmer's market? at a craft fair? Create a video. Tell your own story. A picture tells a thousand words Videos can tell a million! YouTube is the biggest search engine! Create a how-to video explaining your product or service and post it on your website and other sites for free.
