1 Course Information: HCS Curriculum: Foreign Languages - 12 Hoover City Schools Secondary Curriculum Foreign Language, Course Title: Grade Level: Course Description: German II builds on the foundations of German I. Students will learn additional verb tenses, higher level grammar and increase their vocabulary. Students will continue to develop their listening, writing, reading and speaking skills. The study of German culture is also a component of the course. The class will be conducted primarily in German. It is highly recommended that students successfully complete German I with at least a C average before taking German II. 6 Unit 9- Communication Unit Goal: Students will read about and discuss different types of print and nonprint media with relation to Germany and the German speaking countries. They will read authentic excerpts from German newspapers and magazines and will also identify mail-related terms. Students will learn to make da and wo compounds as well as use accusative and dative case prepositions in context. # Unit 9 Objectives 1 Read and address an envelope.
