It recognises the ability to apply and monitor a range of on-job skills while working with broad autonomy within defined areas of responsibility. The qualification is structured with a generic compulsory section and an elective section that provides options covering general and specialist competencies required for specific products and technologies. The two optional strands in product safety and people skills are intended to provide further career development options. This qualification is modelled on the Australian Qualifications Framework Certificate IV in Food Processing (FDF40103). Mutual recognition arrangements have been made between the New Zealand Industry Training Organisation and AgriFood Skills Australia. Unit standards and achievement standards that are equivalent in outcome are mutually exclusive for the purpose of award. The table of mutually exclusive standards is provided in section 7 of the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) Rules and Procedures publications available at Reviewed standards that continue to recognise the same overall outcome are registered as new versions and retain their identification number (ID). Any version of a standard with the same ID may be used to meet qualification requirements that list the ID and/or that specify the past or current classification of the standard. Changes to structure and content Standard 9674 has been replaced with standards and Standards 758 and 760 have been added to Elective A. The domains First Line Management and Quality Management from the Management subfield have been replaced with the domains People Development and Coordination and Quality Management from the Business Operations and Development subfield in the People Skills Optional strand. For detailed information see Review Summaries on the NZQA website. People part way through version 1 of this qualification may choose to complete that version or transfer to version 2. This qualification contains standards that replace an earlier standard. For the purposes of this qualification, people who have gained credit for the expiring standard are exempt from the requirement to gain credit for the replacement standards see table below.
