3 NZQF NQ Ref 1653 Version 2 Page 3 of 6 Infrastructure Works (Contract Management) (Level 5) Level 5 Credits 46 Purpose The purpose of this qualification is to provide the infrastructure industry with people who have attained sufficient knowledge, practical skills, attitude and experience required for contract management. This qualification is suitable for people from the diverse range of roles within the infrastructure industry, including: Asphalt Surfacing; Chipseal Surfacing; Civil Works and Utilities; Civil Plant Management; Civil Works; Demolition; Pavement Surfacing; Roadmarking; Road Works; Rural Contracting; Water; and Wastewater, who have elected to progress into contract management roles within the infrastructure industry. People awarded this qualification are able to: interpret contract documents for planning an infrastructure works project; carry out infrastructure works contract estimating, tendering, and related procedures; develop and implement a project plan to deliver on an infrastructure works contract, and demonstrate knowledge of infrastructure works contracts. The Infrastructure Works (Contract Management) (Level 5) [Ref: 1653] may build on the Business (First Line Management) (Level 3) [Ref: 0743], and/or the Business (First Line Management) (Level 4) [Ref: 0649], and may lead to the Infrastructure Works Supervision (Level 5) with optional strands in Civil Plant Management, Civil Works, Pavement Surfacing, Roadmarking, Road Works, and Rural Contracting [Ref: T436], and/or Infrastructure Asset Management qualifications. 4 NZQF NQ Ref 1653 Version 2 Page 4 of 6 Requirements for Award of Qualification Award of NZQF National Qualifications Credit gained for a standard may be used only once to meet the requirements of this qualification. Unit standards and achievement standards that are equivalent in outcome are mutually exclusive for the purpose of award. The table of mutually exclusive standards is provided on the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) website: Reviewed standards that continue to recognise the same overall outcome are registered as new versions and retain their identification number (ID). Any version of a standard with the same ID may be used to meet qualification requirements that list the ID and/or that specify the past or current classification of the standard. 5 NZQF NQ Ref 1653 Version 2 Page 5 of 6 Credit for Exempt from Certification This certificate will display the logo of the NZQA, the InfraTrain New Zealand and the organisation that has been granted consent to assess against standards that meet the requirements of the qualification (accredited). Classification This qualification is classified according to the classification system listed on the Directory of Assessment Standards (DAS) and the New Zealand Standard Classification of Education (NZSCED) system as specified below. Organisation with consent to assess and Industry Training Organisations assessing against standards must engage with the moderation system that applies to those standards. Consent to assess requirements and the moderation system are outlined in the associated Consent and Moderation Requirements (CMR) for each standard.
