1 1 AUTOMATIC BATTERY FILLING SYSTEM BFS offers a complete system : float-operated watering plugs. All parts are manufactured in acid-proof plastic material. hoses in transparent PVC. all the necessary connectors and peripheral parts. filters, flow indicators and quick-connect couplings. The water enters the cell through the BFS plug and raises the electrolyte to a preset level controlled by the float. The float raises and closes the valve in the plug by a 2.5:1 lever action (BFS patent). The system can work with a filling pressure of 0,2 to 3,8 bar (3 to 53 psi). When the electrolyte level drops, the float-operated valve will open automatically. Every time the system is connected to a water supply, the electrolyte level will rise to the selected preset level. A water trap in the BFS plug avoids an exchange of gas between the cells and prevents inter-cell flashovers. The BFS plug is available to suit all cell vent types. The push-in plug is manufactured as a one piece unit, bayonet and threaded plugs consist of a master plug and adaptor. The correct electrolyte level is achieved by float selection. 10 different snap-on floats are available. The electrolyte level in each cell is indicated by a white level indicator fitted in each plug.

2 2 PLUGS Push-in plug III (article nr. A51000) All components of the S35 push-in plug fit in or on the plug housing. The components are designed to be installed by means of snap-fit. At the end of its useful life, the plug can be disassembled and the individual components can be recycled. Bayonet plug III The bayonet plug is formed by adding a bayonet adapter to a basic plug. All components are designed to be installed by means of snap-fit. At the end of its useful life, the plug can be disassembled and the individual components can be 100% recycled. The patented design of the bfs bayonet plug provides for independent rotation of the adapter and the housing. It is suitable for all usual bayonet cell openings. The 2-bayonet type has article nr. B51000, the 4-bayonet type H Gaskets, 3 mm in thickness, are available (article nr. 09DI30). Threaded plug III The threaded plug is formed by adding a threaded adapter to a basic plug. All components are designed to be installed by means of snap-fit. At the end of its useful life, the plug can be disassembled and the individual components can be 100% recycled. The patented design of the bfs threaded plug provides for independent rotation of the adapter and the housing. It is suitable for all usual threaded cell openings. The M27 threaded plug has article nr. C51000, The M30 threaded plug D51000.

3 3 Manual plugs Manual flip-top plus For the manual topping-up of all battery cells, BFS developed a very special flip-top plug (pat.pend.). Highest possible return of humidity by condensation. 4 4 Special plugs In addition to the standard Mark III plug, BFS also offers this model as a special plug, for mining with security valve or installation with central degassing. The special plugs are suitable for all usual cell openings (push-in, bayonet, threaded). The push-in plug for central degassing with a single connector has article nr. A51210, the one with a double connector A Vandapower offers a new special clip-in plug, part no. I51000, suitable for battery lids with bayonet opening. This special plug has to be fitted into the bayonet cell opening with a direct snap-in lock only, contrary to the standard bayonet plug B51000 which would need a quarter turn. Regarding the selection of the right float for this clip-in plug, the same measurements apply as for the bayonet plug B Plugs with security valve CLIP plug Plugs with central degassing A31000 I51000 A51210 A51220 The filter-ex (article nr. 09FEX1) is working in conjunction with the central degassing plugs to avoid arcing on the batteries or inside the cells.
