2 RAP MILESTONES TARGET: To Improve progress and attainment in maths Three more members to enrol and start MAST programme (yr ½, yr 3 and yr 4) New curriculum implemented including: Staff meeting Sort out practical maths boxes and redistribute in CJS Calculation policy use throughout the school Book scrutiny is completed and feedback given Maths intervention teacher improves progress of targeted children groups at the end of the term Subject leaders complete successes and areas of development, must include action points Specific groups progress analysed and shared with staff. MAST staff to introduce in to own classes and working with learning partners (year ½, 3 and 4) Calculation policy reviewed and CPD introduced Maths intervention teacher improves progress of targeted children- start year 4 groups groups at the end of the term Some classes / groups showing above expected progress Autumn Term action points actioned Subject leaders complete successes and areas of development, must include action points Specific groups progress analysed and shared with staff. 2

TARGET: To Improve progress and attainment in Phonics Sound Discovery is trialled as an intervention at Maidstone In house training on the basics of phonics e.g. terminology is completed Analysis of children on track and not on track for 2 levels and 3 levels progress completed Moderation of phonics planning completed Observations at MIS looking for opportunities for children to apply skills in reading is completed Reading books reviewed Staff book recommendation displayed in the library Application for SFA reading grant completed groups at the end of the term Phase 6 children assessed and moved onto SPAG All phase 6 to completed by end of term Gap analysis in phonics for year 1 and retaking year 2 children completed New reading strategies across MIS and CJS from family of schools reading focus to raise 2 levels and 3 levels progress are implemented groups at the end of the term Some classes / groups showing above expected progress
5 Summer Term milestones All year 3 children completed phase 6 phonics Year 1 phonics test training for staff completed. Bug club effectiveness evaluated groups at the end of the term Some classes / groups showing above expected progress TARGET: To Improve progress and attainment in behaviour Behaviour Policy update. All parents receive booklet explaining the Behaviour Policy. Learning behaviours audited Pupil perceptions completed and analysed All staff consistently uses the time out system All parents are informed following the behaviour policy. All behaviour is collated and analysed. Every month has a shared focus where Monday assemblies are the inspiration. Time out system embedded across the MDSA s. Outcomes of Pupil perceptions actioned Continue to monitor the behaviour policy. Learning behaviours audited an improved from the Autumn Term. More children attend school regularly. Impact of improved behaviour on progress and attainment evaluated. Summer Term milestones Time outs reduced Behaviour letters homes reduced Pupil perceptions on the behaviour in the school collated and analysed Learning behaviours audited to compare and improved from Spring term % of good behaviour improved 5
6 ACTIONS TO ACHEVE MILESTONES 1. To Improve progress and attainment in Maths Three members of staff to enrol and start on MAST Implement new curriculum including staff meeting for Singapore bar method Evaluate the use of the new calculation policy using book analysis, pupil perceptions, planning Audit and redistribute the practical maths boxes in CJS MIS- Nicola, Charlotte, Hannah CJS- Jess, Denis, Alice MIS- Nicola, Charlotte, Hannah CJS- Jess, Denis, Alice MIS- Nicola, Charlotte, Hannah CJS- Jess, Denis, Alice MIS- Nicola, Charlotte, Hannah CJS- Jess, Denis, Alice 2. To Improve progress and attainment in Writing Copies of Talk for Writing and Jumpstart Grammar bought for Years 3, 4, 5 and 6. Research this for KS1 Monitor books HA, MA, LA from each class from Causton and Maidstone monitor across the Federation. Assess needs of teachers and pair up for lesson studies. Getting to Good / Outstanding Behaviour Policy updated and leaflet sent to parents to inform them of changes Quality of learning and teaching, JS, GH monitored and collated Literacy and Numeracy leaders to, JS, GH attend initial meeting to develop an action plan of collaborating across the county Work with Strategic and School Governors improvement team to present the SEF All staff to attend Year group meeting through the family of schools. Action Plans to be collated and shared across the school. 3. Continue to develop parental and community involvement. Yearly plan shared with parents of JS, GH events / meetings. Parents invited to attend class JU assemblies and then ask for their evaluation Open School evening to share work and JS, GH the school. Meet with PTFA and plan for a relaunch of the Federation PTFA Formulate questionnaire based on JS, GH behaviour for parents to complete. Analyse information received from the questionnaire report to Governors 4. Embedding the New National Curriculum. Ensure subject leaders know what is JU expected from them to achieve the milestone. Share with Governors the outcomes Timetable of Curriculum Days is JU devised and shared with Governors and parents. Ask for parent feedback from Curriculum Days and use this to inform the next ones.
