1 Collegiate Section at The University of Teas at Austin 2616 Wichita Street, Stop A9500, BWY 105, Austin TX Dear Corporate Supporter, June 19, 2015 On behalf of the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) collegiate section at The University of Teas at Austin, I invite you to be involved with our section during the academic year. SWE at UT Austin is a national leader, reaching over 330 registered SWE members and many more students through our events. We are one of the largest collegiate SWE sections in the country and have earned national and regional awards and honors for our programs, including the Professional Development Program Award and the SWE Outstanding Collegiate Section Gold Award. Last year, we earned the Region C Outstanding Section Award out of 36 total collegiate sections. As one of the largest student organizations in the Cockrell School of Engineering, our members come from diverse backgrounds and engineering disciplines. We support the Cockrell School of Engineering s mission to educate student leaders through innovative programming and academic support for our membership and the broader community. The theme of the UT Austin SWE collegiate section this year is, Together, SWE Grow. We will provide our members with opportunities to achieve their full academic and professional potential, and to build relationships with our local community and other SWE collegiate sections through these initiatives: Professional Networking Night, Workshops, Society and Region Conferences, Lunch & Learns Outreach Middle School and High School Outreach, Girl Scouts of Central Teas Outreach, Informational Videos Academic Graduate Student Committee, Study Nights Social SWEester Mentorship Program, Spring Awards Banquet, Monthly Socials By supporting SWE at UT Austin, your company can access a wide range of opportunities for involvement and visibility. Students and company representatives can further the conversations and relationships built at EXPO. The program consists of a mingling session, a keynote speaker, and two table rotations that allow companies to meet with more students in an interactive setting. and program handouts Up to two corporate representatives per dinner table Visibility on student web registration Outreach Saturdays, Fall and Spring Semesters 100+ middle and high school students SWE outreach informs and encourages students, specifically females, to pursue engineering study. Through our hands-on, real-world engineering activities, students gain insight into various engineering disciplines and careers by interacting with current students representing different engineering majors. This event helps support and enrich emerging student leaders by providing leadership activities and modules. Opportunity to present a one-hour leadership module, providing members with insight on working in industry Company handouts/giveaways Lunch & Learns Dates fleible and available both Semesters Up to 20 SWE student members This smaller group luncheon allows corporate representatives to meet with students from who have a strong interest in working with your company. It is also a good chance for representatives to share their personal eperiences with the company or give a workshopstyle presentation on professional topics.
