All first senior meetings should take place by Oct. 12. ACT registration deadline for October 24th exam date Check financial aid form deadlines for your Early Decision/Action (ED/EA/SCEA/EN) colleges. Students are strongly recommended to submit their final application no later than November 15 th to avoid common server issues and overloads. Absolute, non negotiable deadline November 30. **** For students applying under any and all Regular Decision Plans Nov. 2: Deadline for Teacher recommendation follow up letter and Teacher Evaluation (TE) Forms to be given to your teacher(s) to allow them time to write on your behalf Nov. 6: Final deadline to submit signed Final College List and deadline to update college application list on Family Connection Final deadline to submit to College Counseling all paper version School Report (SR) and Midyear Report (MR) forms [for schools that do not accept electronic submissions]. Last chance to give UC/CSU application draft to your college counselor for pre submission review **** Sunday., Nov. 30: Absolute final deadline for the UC applications and CSU applications!!! (Their deadline, not ours!) December TYPICALLY, LAST CHANCE FOR COLLEGE INTERVIEWS ON COLLEGE CAMPUSES LAST SAT & ACT CHANCE FOR CONSIDERATION BY COLLEGES THIS ADMISSION CYCLE BE MINDFUL! OUR DEADLINE TO SUBMIT YOUR ESSAYS FOR COLLEGE COUNSELOR TEAM ADMISSION COMMITTEE REVIEW IS DECEMBER 9 TO ALLOW ADEQUATE TIME TO REVIEW YOUR WORK AND PROVIDE TEAM FEEDBACK. Financial Aid Hands On Workshop, Part II, 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Lecture Hall Primary audience is parents to work with forms and filings. Students certainly welcome BE MINDFUL! Our Deadline to submit your essays for college counselor team Admission committee review is DECEMBER 9 to allow our time to review fully your work and to provide team feedback before your application deadline. ACT (Off campus). Registration deadline is November 6 th. Scores from this test date are usually the last exams for the cycle that colleges will accept. Dec : Breaking News! Early Action/Early Decision candidates typically notified around this time. **** Dec. 13: LAST RECOMMENDED DATE for STUDENTS TO SEND ACT, SAT AND SUBJECT TEST SCORES TO COLLEGES Dec : Submit or mail the rest of your applications by this time! Don t risk submission problems or delayed mail! Do NOT wait until December 31 st to submit or mail your applications due on that date or for January 1 or 2 deadlines. January 2016 KEEP UP WITH COMMUNICATIONS FROM COLLEGES WHERE YOU APPLIED. BE SURE TO CHECK SPAM FILTERS REGULARLY FOR COLLEGE COMMUNICATIONS! SOME PRIVATE COLLEGES INVITE AND HOLD ALUMNI INTERVIEWS DURING THIS PERIOD SUBMIT GPA VERIFICATION FORMS TO YOUR COUNSELOR IF APPLYING FOR FAFSA AND/OR CAL GRANT!! Jan. 1: Jan 1 Feb. 15 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) filing period begins. IMPORTANT: Check each college for their individual FAFSA and CSS Profile filing deadlines. Some may not consider aid for late filers or may assign a student to a financial aid waiting list. Check for notices from colleges about received and missing application materials. But, DO NOT OVERREACT if you get some early missing items notices It does take time (sometimes weeks) for colleges to process documents that all come into their admission offices all at the same time, right at the deadline. (A good reason to send things earlier). Wait a few days, then check online before calling the admission office. (They really, really don t like the over reacting calls and most particularly don t like those calls from parents rather than students.) Your college applications should all be submitted before or by this time. February FINANCIAL AID FILING DEADLINES, MISSING ITEMS NOTIFICATIONS, FALL GRADES SUBMITTED SIGNUPS BEGIN FOR AP EXAMS TURN IN GPA VERIFICATION FORMS TO YOUR COUNSELOR IF APPLYING FOR FAFSA AND CAL GRANT CONTINUE TO CHECK FOR NOTICES FROM COLLEGES ABOUT RECEIVED AND MISSING APPLICATION MATERIALS. PROMPTLY RESPOND TO ANY REQUESTS FOR MISSING ITEMS, BUT DON T PANIC. NO ERROR IS ASSUMED BY COLLEGES. SOMETIMES DUPLICATES MUST BE PROVIDED. (IT HAPPENS) Feb. 1: Feb : Financial Aid filing deadlines begin. Yes, Federal/State tax filing information is sometimes required this early. Some colleges have later deadlines [e.g. Feb. 15 or March 1] Be sure to check with each individual college. Mid year school reports with Fall (7 th semester) grades are sent to colleges this week. Don t panic if asked for them earlier. We meet all deadlines.

4 March April May March 1: March April: April 1 15: April 1 30: Wed., Apr 29 ALL UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA CAMPUSES NOTIFY APPLICANTS OF DECISIONS DURING THIS MONTH. o OTHER ADMISSION NOTIFICATIONS BEGIN FROM MID MARCH THROUGH EARLY APRIL. CHECK YOUR COLLEGES PUBLISHED NOTIFICATION DATES. (DO NOT CALL AND ASK FOR EARLY NOTIFICATION BECAUSE OF PERSONAL CIRCUMSTANCES. THAT COULD HURT!) Last Financial Aid filing deadlines. (Check your colleges) $$$$$ DEADLINE : GPA Verification Forms for Cal Grant and FAFSA due. Colleges begin to communicate admission notifications beginning in mid March. CONTINUING ADMISSION NOTIFICATIONS; VISITING COLLEGE CAMPUSES; FOLLOW UP WITH AID OFFERS Final admission decision notification received from colleges. Students can plan to visit colleges offering admission during this time by making prior arrangements with Ms. White or Mr. Wiedenmann. For students taking AP Exams : ABSOLUTELY REQUIRED AP Exam Pre test document meeting AP EXAMS / FOLLOW UP WITH FINANCIAL AID / COLLEGE ENROLLMENT FORMS DUE BY MAY 1 WAIT LIST NOTIFICATION(S) Fri., May 1: National Candidate s Reply Date Enrollment deposits due at the college where the student will matriculate. o Do NOT delay! Students must reply either to accept or decline the offer. o Enrollment Deposits/Commitments received after this date may result in losing a place. o Failure to reply (even to decline an offer) is unfair to students on waiting lists by delaying information. May 4 15: AP Exams (Schedule and Make up exams to be announced) Think ahead! If you took the course, get the credit and placement opportunities for more advanced work in college. Step up to next level courses, honors placement eligibility and in many colleges, satisfy distribution requirements with AP scores of 3, 4 or 5, most frequently in foreign languages and mathematics. Provides opportunity in some colleges to graduate earlier or take a lighter load should you ever want or need to drop a course or need the time in your schedule for a major or thesis project. June June 18: WAIT LIST NOTIFICATION MAY CONTINUE o IF THIS AFFECTS YOU, BE SURE TO HAVE A PLAN IN PLACE BEFORE THE SENIOR OUTDOOR EDUCATION TRIP GRADUATION Week after Graduation: Final Chadwick transcript is mailed to the college of choice. Note: Only ONE final, official transcript will be sent. Changes in enrollment plan due to late waiting list offer must be accompanied by cancellation of the original enrollment. In accord with all college enrollment agreements and published in offers of admission and in our College Counseling handbook, that change must be confirmed with the College Counselors BEFORE a second transcript can be sent to another college. It is responsible, honest, and, it is fair to other candidates hoping for an opportunity any student holding more than one place would deny.
