1 Cleaning Specifications for FLORENCE-CARLTON DAILY SERVICE --EMPTY ALL WASTEBASKETS --Transport collected trash to dumpster. Replace torn or soiled trash liners --VACUUM CARPETED ENTRANCE MATS --VACUUM TRAFFIC LANES --Spot vacuum remaining carpeted areas to insure the removal of visible soil. Remove spots from carpet --DUST HORIZONTAL SURFACES --including furniture, picture frames, window sills, doors, counters, and ledges --SPOT CLEAN DOORS, DOOR JAMS --SPOT CLEAN DESKS, COUNTERS --Removing visible dust, debris, and stains --CLEAN ENTRY DOOR(S) GLASS --Remove fingerprints, smudges, and streaks from exterior and interior of glass. Spot clean door frame and handles --CLEAN REST ROOMS --Empty trash containers --Clean mirrors and bright work --Refill dispensers, restock paper products --Clean and sanitize sink, fixtures, toilets, urinals --Spot clean partitions, walls (dust tops of partitions) --Sweep and damp mop floors --SPOT CLEAN WALLS AND LOCKERS --SWEEP AND SPOT MOP STAIRS --Remove all dirt, debris, and spills --CLEAN DRINKING FOUNTAIN(S) --CHANGE LIGHTS/BALLASTS AS NEEDED

2 --POLICE EXTERIOR GROUNDS --Sweep sidewalks and outside entryways --Keeps buildings and premises, including sidewalks, driveways, and play areas, neat and clean at all times. --Shovels, plows and/or sands walks and steps, as appropriate. --Keeps the grounds free from rubbish. --Performs such yard keeping chores as grass cutting, tree trimming, and other necessary tasks to maintain the school grounds in a safe and attractive condition. --SECURITY CHECK --Check all windows and doors --Unlock/Lock doors as needed --Raise and Lower Flag as directed by Administration --Checks daily to insure that all exit doors are open and all panic bolts are working during the hours of building occupancy. --Lowers the flags at or after 3:30 p.m. --CLEAN GRAFFITI --Off of desks, walls, etc. --CLEAN NEW GYM/FOYER --Empty outside garbage --Pick up trash in parking lot --Sweep entrances (hose down) --Sweep and mop foyer floor --Take out garbage --Sweep and mop stairs --Clean water fountains --Vacuum entrance rugs --Clean and dust display cases (weekly) --Lock mezzanine doors --CLEAN OLD GYM --Clean under bleachers --Clean stage and steps --Take out garbage --KEEP CUSTODIAL CLOSETS CLEAN --FILL DISPENSERS IN OFFICES --Includes towel and soap dispensers --CLEAN AND SANITIZE SINKS

3 --CLEAN LOCKER/SHOWER ROOMS --Clean and lock all windows --Gather garbage and place in disposal cans --Dust mop/sweep all floor surfaces --Damp mop floors with germicidal cleanser --Wash shower walls with germicidal cleanser --Check, clean and refill all towel, tissue, soap, and sanitary napkin dispensers --Clean mirrors --Dust ledges, cabinets, furniture, fixtures, equipment, and lockers in shower rooms & PE offices in areas that do not require the use of a ladder. (Weekly) --Remove fingerprints and marks from woodwork, light switches, doors, and walls (monthly) --Clean glass panels --Turn out lights and lock doors --Clean bathrooms (same as Clean Restrooms under Daily Tasks) --DAYTIME CUSTODIAN DUTIES --Day person's Hours: 6:30--3:00 (1/2 hour lunch break) 6:30 Check boiler, Unlock exterior doors, Raise flag, Turn on lights 7:00 Buff floors 7:45 Open classroom doors for subs/errands 8:30 Clean up exterior of building 9:30 Mail 10:00 Break 10:15 Walk through: Clean bathrooms, entries, and halls as needed; take out breakfast trash, and answer requests 11:15 Set up lunch tables 11:30 Lunch (personal) 12:00 Take down lunch tables, Take out trash, Check kindergarten rooms 1:30 Walk through: Clean bathrooms and halls as needed, clean staff lounges, answer general requests 2:00 Do projects and check boiler 2:45 Check on gym for afternoon activities RESPONSIBILITIES: --Empty garbage from the cafeteria after breakfast and lunch. --Freshen up toilet areas a.m. and p.m. in all buildings --Vacuum and clean inside entries as required. --Check kindergarten rooms for attention between a.m. and p.m. classes. --Clean halls a.m. and p.m. and sanitize drinking fountain as needed. --Check all staff lounges daily. --Set-up and take down lunch tables. --Keep floor in a clean and attractive condition. --Make such minor building repairs as he/she is capable. --Report any damage or major repairs to the superintendent.

4 --Keep an inventory of supplies, equipment, and fuel on hand --Conduct an ongoing program of general maintenance, upkeep, and repair --Complies with local laws and procedures for the storage and disposal of trash and waste. --In radio contact with the administrative office all day. (Except when leaving the ground is necessary, at which time the office will be notified) --Clean up emergency spills on call in all buildings. --Empty garbage from all buildings as requested by building administrators. --Perform other emergencies as deemed necessary for proper cleanliness. --Clean up as necessary when students become ill. --Change light bulbs and light tubes as required. --Respond to reasonable requests from staff --Move furniture or equipment with the buildings as needed. --Conduct periodic inspections and tests of all electrical installations in the assigned area to insure their sage condition. --Performs all duties itemized under Policing Grounds, Security Check, Maintaining Boiler (monthly/daily), and Pre-Game Duties --MAINTAIN BOILER OPERATION --Checks boiler water, chemicals, and logs any variances --Performs required minor maintenance to boiler and system --Knowledgeable of the boiler function, operation and maintenance --Checks traps, temperature flow, and reports problems to supervisor --Performs any other duties as necessary or required --FULL TIME NIGHT PERSON --The hours of the night person will be from 3:00--11:00 pm. --Be on call every night: (have radio contact at all times) --Includes all itemized cleaning duties listed under daily, weekly, monthly service --Includes all post-game duties WEEKLY SERVICE --THOROUGHLY VACUUM CARPETED AREAS --Includes under desks and chairs, in offices --CLEAN AND SANITIZE TELEPHONES --Cleaning base and wiping off handset --DAMP MOP FLOOR SURFACES --DUST CEILING VENTS --CLEAN CHALKBOARDS --WASH AND SANITIZE RESTROOMS --Located in the locker/shower rooms.
