1 Signing in: Locate your schools account number by going to its custom URL. The account number is the long string of numbers toward the end of the URL. Enter this number where it says Account Number on the login screen and tap the box next to where it says Remember my account number to save it. Put in your username and password then tap on SUBMIT to sign in. Page1

2 Bookbag: When you login, you will be automatically taken to your bookbag where you will see any titles you currently have checked out. If you tap on CATEGORY, you can choose to view only books that you have not downloaded yet or just books that have been downloaded. You can also sort the books from A-Z or Z-A by tapping on SORT. 3 Searching for and checking out books: To search for a title, tap on SEARCH LIBRARY from your Bookbag. This will bring open the advanced search. From here you have many categories you can search using. Once you have your criteria selected, tap on SEARCH to find your results. Page3

4 To check out a title, tap on the CHECK OUT icon. An alert will then pop up indicating you have successfully checked out the title. Once you have checked out the title, tap the CLOSE icon on the top right corner of the search results window to go to your bookbag where the title you checked out will be. Reading a book: From your bookbag, you must first download the book before you can read it. Tap on the blue DOWNLOAD button to do this and it will show the download in progress. After it is done download, tap on READ to open the book in the ereader. Once you are done reading a title, you can tap on the arrow pointing to the left on the top left corner of the ereader to take you back to your bookbag. Page4

5 Functions within the ereader: While in the ereader, you swipe your finger from side to side on the screen to flip through pages. To bookmark a page, tap on the bookmark picture on the top right corner of the ereader screen. It will turn red when the page you are on is bookmarked. To write a note, hold your finger down anywhere on the screen until a pop up comes up that says NOTE and then tap on it. It will then take you to a writing panel where you can type a note on that page. To access your bookmarks and notes, tap on the book icon on the top left corner of the ereader screen. Citations can be generated by tapping on the Cite This icon on the top right. You are able to choose from 3 different citation styles. You can also copy and paste the citation into a note or on the ipad. Page5

6 If you tap on the cog in the top right hand corner, you can adjust the brightness as well as change from double page view to single page view and back. Accelerated Reader Quizzes: If your school uses AR quizzes, students can take one by tapping on the TAKE AR QUIZ button on the top right corner of the ereader when they are in a title. Once they tap on that, the ipad will automatically launch the Accelerated Reader ipad app (you must install this from the App Store before doing this), and it will be at the login screen your student normally uses to sign in and take a quiz. They would then use their normal AR login to go in and take the quiz. Deleting book data from the ipad: To delete book data from the ipad, go to your bookbag and tap on the INFO icon for the book you wish to delete. When the book details page comes up, tap on DELETE and then tap OK on the confirmation popup. Syncing data: Notes, citations, checkouts, and bookmarks all sync automatically between the website and the app as long as you have an active internet connection. For example, if you create a note in the ipad app, you should see it under the My Notes section on the website. Page6

7 Please note that this does NOT check in the book. You can only check in a book from the website portal. Signing out of the app: To sign out of the app, tap on the human icon on the bottom right corner of the screen and then choose sign out. All of the titles you have downloaded will automatically delete (but will remain checked out on your account for later reading). Page7

8 You do not need to sign out of the app each time you are done with it. If you have books downloaded and lose internet connection, you can still read those titles since there is a copy of them on the ipad as long as you do not sign out. Page8
