2 MIT Press Journals Mobile Access our content by visiting from your mobile browser. If you are coming from a compatible device (iphone/ipad, Android, or Blackberry), you will automatically be directed to the mobile-optimized format. Save our site to your home screen for easier access.

3 Home Screen From the homepage you can access a link to: the entire list of MIT Press journals favorite articles most recently published articles saved full-text articles Tap the Journals tab to select journal content

4 Select from Journals List Tap the Select button, and click on the journals you wish to access. Tap Done at the top of the screen to finalize your list.

5 List of Issues From your selected list of journals, click on a title to access a list of published content and Early Access articles, if applicable. To view the List of Issues, tap on a volume number.

7 Abstracts and Full-Text Article From the article page you can view article information, abstract, and full text (HTML and/or PDF). Access to full text requires an institutional or personal subscription. To access full-text articles from journals that have been licensed by your institution, you must be connected to an authenticated institutional wi-fi network. Once connected, your device will be automatically paired with your institution s access rights, enabling you to access content while offsite.

8 View PDF Although not all MIT Press journals are yet available as full-text HTML articles, a PDF is available for all articles. If you are using an iphone or ipad, you can save this PDF in ibooks or other PDF-compatible app, such as GoodReader or Dropbox.

9 Optimized PDF View Double-tap on a column of text in the PDF for an optimized view

10 View Figures and Tables In full-text HTML articles, tap on table or figure numbers to view a larger image. Tap the x at the top left of the screen to close out of larger view.

11 View References In full-text HTML articles, tap on citations to view the full citation from the References section. Tap the citation bubble to close out of the Reference view.

12 Select Different Views The Select View option appears at the bottom of all full-text article pages. This option allows you to see the following views of an article for quick navigation: Sections (Intro., Methods, Results, etc.) Figures list with captions References Cited by shows citations from other MIT Press articles to this article

13 Mark as Favorite or Save The star icon at the bottom left of article pages allows you to: Mark articles as favorites, which you can then access quickly from your Home screen Save articles to your device for offline reading (for full-text HTML articles only)

14 Share via The people icon at the bottom of article pages allows you to share article abstracts and links via . Sharing via social networking is coming soon!

15 Search To search for content, tap the search icon and enter a search term. You can filter search results as follows: Tap All Publications then Selected Publications to search only in your selected publications. Tap All Fields to search for the term within a specific field.

16 Search Results The search results can be sorted and/or refined using the search icons at the bottom of the screen (see also next page). Use the Sort By icon to sort results by most relevant (default), most recent, most cited, or most downloaded. Use the Refine icon to refine your results by series title, article type, content type, or date range. Use the Prev and Next icons to page through search results.

18 Accessing Non-Journal Content Pages on Mobile Clicking the Visit Full Site button at the bottom of the screen will direct you to the MIT Press Journals full web version. You can use this interface to find non-content-related pages. You can return to the mobile version by tapping on the View Mobile Site link at the top of your screen.
