1 CHALLENGE JUDO INTERNATIONAL 2016 BOUCHERVILLE QUÉBEC CANADA Dear friends judoka The 20 th Challenge International Judo Boucherville organizing committee would be happy to welcome you on our annual competition which will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2016, in Boucherville, Quebec, Canada. This is a team tournament for most of the weight and age categories that can be found in a dojo, from U11 to the master division. All divisions are competing the same day on three (3) competition surfaces. Over the years, the quality of the arbitration and the skill of the competitors (some of the best in Canada) have made this event a success. During the 2015 edition, more than 160 competitors and 35 teams from 15 different clubs have participated \in this far-reaching event. Our past experience in organizing team competitions allow us to ensure the highest quality of judo to all competitors. We welcome you to Boucherville. For a better planning, it is important that you take notice of the rules and regulations as well as the limit date for pre-registration, which is March 21, 2016 and Febuary 27, 2016 for teams coming from outside North America. 4 20th CHALLENGE INTERNATIONAL JUDO BOUCHERVILLE 2016 The Challenge International Judo Boucherville is designed to represent every category of judokas within a dojo. Points awarded Points will be awarded per dojo for each represented category as well as for classification within each category: 1 point for each team represented 7 points for the winning team of each division 5 points for the second winning team 3 points for the third winning team If, at the end of the tournament, two dojos are equals, the dojo with the best average (total number of points/number of teams) will be declared the winner of the Challenge International Judo Boucherville Awards The Challenge perpetual trophy will be awarded to the winning team for a period of six months (for Quebec clubs only). Medals and gifts will be awarded to the judokas of the first three teams in each category. Rules All participants must be current members of an accredited IJF association. Two regions can be associated to complete one team. No replacement or change in categories will be allowed after the official weight in. In case of equality in the number of victories, the number of points entered will determine the winning team. In case of equality with the number of victories and the number of points, there will be drawing among all categories to break the equality; 1. If there were HIKI WAKE matches, the drawing will be made among the categories where there was equality. 2. If there was no HIKI WAKE match, the drawing will be made among all the categories (including those where the team does not have athletes). 3. The final match must make a winner, the referees will give a decision, or the match will be continued in Golden Score according to the applicable rules of the division. A judoka can register in two divisions, schedules and weight categories permitting. Only one weight category upgrade will be accepted. For divisions U20 / Senior and Masters a drawing will be made before the matches to determine the order of the fights. A maximum of one (1) kg over weight category will be accepted. For the MASTER category the minimal age of the team must be 150 years old the day of the competition. Organization reserves the right to limit the number of teams to twelve (12) per category. (First register first reserved.) For planning and in order to respect schedules, organization reserves the right to refuse any inscription made after the deadline. No inscription will be accepted the day of the challenge. At the weigh-in a waiver will be signed by the team responsible.
