2 Travelling in spiritual community is something I cherish and am truly grateful for. I get the opportunity to spend time practicing with likeminded seekers. I love prayer and meditation, and I love it even more in a group setting. There is something truly lovely about exploring consciousness and the exciting new lands together. The theme for 2014 at the Center for Spiritual Living, Santa Rosa, is Power, and a visit to Mexico to see some of that country s ancient power spots will certainly be an appropriate way to explore your own relationship with power, enhanced by the intimacy of being with your spiritual community and stimulated by truly amazing structures, spectacular landscapes, and breathtaking skies. 2

3 Days 1 and 2 - June 15 and 16 Fly from SFO to Cancun on a late night flight arriving in Cancun on the 16 th of June at 9 am We will then transfer by bus to quite possibly the most exquisite resort in Mexico. Maroma Beach is a resort hideaway intent on preserving the ecology of its 500-plus acres of beach and rain forest. Maroma is nestled into the coast of the Yucatan Peninsula and lies a mere 30 miles south of Cancun. Maroma's guests are immersed in a quiet world of warm azure waters, pure white sands, and rich tropical foliage. This beachfront resort is committed to excellence with unwavering attention to detail, understated elegance, and exceptional personal service. Reconnect with yourself as you go barefoot in the sand, swim in the sea, sleep under thatched room cabañas, and experience world-class fresh seafood meals. The afternoon will be free to enjoy this beautiful resort. We will have a welcome dinner tonight. Day 3 - June 17 We begin the day at 7:30am am meditation and then stretching followed by breakfast and our daily group meeting. We will travel to one of the most beautiful cities of the Mayan culture with the most spectacular view of the Mexican Caribbean. The city of Tulum is the only known Mayan archaeological site located by the sea. It was constructed at the top of a cliff facing the blue sea and has the world's second-largest underwater coral reef. We will return to the hotel and have the afternoon free to enjoy the beach and hotel facilities. 3

4 Day 4 - June 18 We begin the day at 7:30am am meditation and then stretching followed by breakfast and our daily group meeting and have the remainder of the day to enjoy the hotel or have a free day to venture out on a tour on your own and experience Mexcio at your own pace. Options are: Swim with Dolphins; Punta Allen Eco Adventure tour; Scuba Diving; Take to on a Hobbie Cat, Kayak or Wave runner sailboat. Or take a long walk on the pristine powdery white sand beaches. Dinner is on you own at the hotel or near by Playa De Carmen. Day 5 - June 19 We begin the day at 7:30am am meditation and then stretching followed by breakfast and our daily group meeting and have the remainder of the morning to enjoy the hotel before leaving for the Mayan Ruins of Chitzen Itza, the most visited archaeological site in the peninsula of Yucatan. We will stay at the Hacienda Chitzen resort. In 1921 the Hacienda Chitzen became the Carnegie Institute's Mayan expedition headquarters in the Yucatan. The picturesque cottages, built for the Carnegie staff, have been recently remodeled to serve as guest accommodations exquisitely elegant, cozy cottages with private terraces. Every room is beautifully decorated with colonial tiles, carved accessories, and handwoven bedspreads. At 4 pm, after most of the tourists have departed, we will visit the ruins of Chitzen Itza. This sacred site was one of the greatest Mayan centers of the Yucatán peninsula. Throughout its nearly 1,000- year history, different peoples have left their mark on the city. The Maya and Toltec vision of the world and the universe is revealed in their stone monuments and artistic works. The fusion of Mayan construction techniques with new elements from central Mexico, make Chichen-Itza 4

5 one of the most important examples of the Mayan-Toltec civilization in Yucatán. Later this evening we will dine together at a restaurant near the ruins. Day 6 - June 20 We begin the day at 7:30am am meditation and then stretching followed by breakfast and our daily group meeting You will have the morning to explore the ruins on your own or relax at the hotel. After lunch we will visit an underground spring called Cenotes. The name cenote comes from the Mayan word ts'onot which means sinkhole. The ancient Maya considered these to be the entrance into the spiritual underworld. The caves surrounding the Cenote are covered with stalactites and stalagmites. Be sure to bring your mask and snorkel as the cenotes are great for swimming. On the way back to the ruins we will stop at some local handicraft shops. This evening dinner is on your own. Day 7 - June 21 We begin the day at 7:30am am meditation and then stretching followed by breakfast and our daily group meeting.the bus leaves at 9:30 am, when it is still cool. Our destination is the Island of Women, where time passes slowly and a relaxing two days await us to finish our journey together. The island is located just eight miles across the Bahia de Mujeres (Bay of Women) from Cancun. Isla Mujeres is only 5 miles long and a half mile wide, with a downtown area of just four by six blocks. Isla's terrain is flat with beaches on all sides. Isla Mujeres is a fishing village that still retains its charm and tranquil atmosphere. As you stroll the streets in the evening you will see families gathered in Caribbean-style homes, tucked between stores and restaurants, mending their fishing nets and relaxing. We will stay at Villa Rolandi a small luxury beach hotel 5

6 featuring only 35 expansive and beautifully appointed Ocean Front Suites, all with Jacuzzi terraces, living area, luxury bedding, and handpicked amenities. There is an unwinding fully-equipped Spa & Thalasso Center; three pools, including a heated sea-water jet pool for Thalassotherapy; an intimate private beach; and private Marina. Hotel Villa Rolandi is 8 minutes away from downtown and the main ferry terminal in Isla Mujeres in a more secluded area of the island. We will have golf carts available to drive into town on our own. Day 8 - June 22 We begin the day at 7:30am am meditation and then stretching followed by breakfast and our daily group meeting. We will spend the rest of the day at the beach or purchase an optional tour to nearby Isla Contoy Nature Preserve or a snorkel trip to the reef at Garrafon. Rent bikes or golf carts to ride around the island. Massages can be booked throughout the day. The group is invited to a no-host sunset cocktail hour at the hotel s beach restaurant. We will have our farewell dinner at the award-winning Casa Rolandi Restaurant Day 9 - June 23 We begin the day at 7:30am am meditation and then stretching followed by breakfast and our daily group meeting and say Adios to Mexico as we take the ferry back to the mainland to the Cancun Airport. 6
