New Bus Administration, Operations, and Maintenance Facility for TRANSPO South Bend, Indiana
The $19,380,00 facility is designed for 76 buses. Construction will begin in August Targeting LEED Platinum 126,541 SF Bus Storage 24,583 SF Maintenance 13,068 SF Administration & Operations
Owner s Direction To design a state-of-the-art transit operations and maintenance facility that will stand the test of time A facility that is energy efficient reducing the long term operational costs of the facility. A facility that provides the best possible environment for our employees to work in, and for our customers to visit. The long term savings will be used to provide transit services to our customers. We are able to be partners with our environment and to set the example for others. Our new facility is to be one of a kind. We will attain the highest level of LEED certification possible for the project. We want to be leaders not followers.
U.S. Building Impacts: 12% Water Use 40% Greenhouse Gas Emissions 65% Waste Output 70% Electricity Consumption Test
LEED is an internationally recognized green building certification system, providing third-party verification that a building or community was designed and built using strategies aimed at improving performance across all the metrics that matter most: energy savings, water efficiency, CO2 emissions reduction, improved indoor environmental quality, and stewardship of resources and sensitivity to their impacts.
LEED = Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Rating Systems LEED NC v2.2 Rating Levels Certified Silver Gold Platinum = points = points = points = points
LEED NC2.2 Summary Currently the project has 49 yes credits + 6 strong credits sustainable sites: 12 water efficiency: 4 energy & atmosphere: 10 materials & resources: 7 indoor environmental quality: 11 innovation and design process: 5 Final Energy Model results should increase the 49 number by another 1-3 points. Final results on the strong credits will be determined after construction is complete, and enhanced commissioning occurs.
