15 Subject Code (Electrical Engineering) Subject name Waves: Applied Acoustics and Optics 15 weeks (1 st semester) Number of class 4 hours a week periods Kind of subject Optional Subject First Cycle Actual = 6. ECTS = 5 The first objective is to apply the ondulatory model in differents physical systems which have interest for engineers. There are two parts in the subject: 1) Geometrical and specially Physical Optics, focused to interference and diffraction phenomena. 2) Acoustics, including fundamentals and some applications. The second objective is getting students who be able to do physical measurements, to analyse experimental results and to discuss them. The laboratory experiments are the main way to reach that objective, and therefore the laboratory practices are an essential part of this subject.
