MEET SPONSOR: The Camillus Swim Club with the cooperation of the Camillus Parks and Recreation Department and the West Genesee Central School District. MEET DIRECTOR Michael Riley MEET REFEREE Fred Leff FACILITY The pool is a 25 yard, six lane, short course swimming pool with ample deck area for coaches and swimmers, and Kiefer non-turbulent lane lines. The timing system will be the Colorado System 5, six Colorado touch pads, a six lane Colorado scoreboard display, and electronic beep with strobe starter. The starting blocks are in the deep end of the pool. The water depth measured for a distance of 3 feet 31/2 inches to 16 feet 5 inches from the starting end wall is 13.0 feet. The water depth measured for a distance of 3 feet 31/2 inches to 16 feet 5 inches from the turn end wall is 4.0 feet. Gym and locker rooms will be available for swimmers. Programs will be for sale. There is ample balcony spectator seating. The parking lot is adjacent to the pool building. The competition course has not been certified in accordance with USA Swimming rule C(4). No swimmer will be permitted to compete unless the swimmer is a member as provided in Article 302. Any swimmer entered in the meet must be certified by a USA Swimming member-coach as being proficient in performing a racing start or must start each race from within the water. When unaccompanied by a member-coach, it is the responsibility of the swimmer or the swimmer s legal guardian to ensure compliance with this requirement. Use of audio or visual recording devices, including a cell phone, is not permitted in changing areas, rest rooms, nor locker rooms. Deck changing is prohibited. Swimmers shall use the locker rooms.

2 MEET TIME: Session 1: 11 & 12 and 13 & 14: Saturday, January 17. Warm-ups start at 7:30 A.M. The session begins at 8:30 A.M. Session 2: 12 & Under and 13 & Over: Saturday, January 17. This session will only include the 500 yard Freestyle and if you swim this event it counts as one of the entries for the entry limit of 5 per day [Saturday]. Warm-ups start at 10:45 A.M. (or immediately after the end of session 1, whichever is later), and warm-ups will last 45 minutes. The session begins at 11:30 A.M., or 45 minutes after warm-ups begin if delayed from session 1. If time limits dictate, we may combine heats to include the different age groups. Session 3: Open, 10 & Under: Saturday, January 17. Warm-ups start at 1:00 P.M. (or immediately after the end of session 2, whichever is later). The session begins at 1:45 P.M. or 45 minutes after warm-ups begin if delayed from session 2. Session 4: Open: Saturday, January 17. This session will only include the 400 IM and 1650 Freestyle and if you swim either or both events they count as entries within the entry limit of 5 per day [Saturday]. Warm-ups start at 3:45 P.M. (or immediately after the end of session 3, whichever is later). The session begins at 4:30 P.M. or 45 minutes after warm-ups begin if delayed from session 3. Session 5: 11 & 12 and 13 & 14: Sunday, January 18. Warm-ups start at 7:30 A.M., The session begins at 8:30 A.M. Session 6: Open: Sunday, January 18. This session will only include the Open 1000 yard Freestyle and if you swim this event it counts as one of the entries for the entry limit of 5 per day [Sunday]. Warm-ups start at 11:30 A.M. or immediately after session 6, whichever is later, and warm-ups will last 45 minutes. The session begins at 12:15 P.M., or 45 minutes after warm-ups begin if delayed from session 5. Session 7: Open, 10 & Under: Sunday, January 18. Warm-ups start at 1:30 P.M. (or immediately after the end of session 6, whichever is later). The session begins at 2:30 P.M. (or 1 hour after warm-ups if later). **** Please note the following: The Meet Director may need to limit the amount of entries per event depending on timeline. Teams will be notified if changes occur.

3 We will be using FLYOVER STARTS. Please be prepared!!! POSITIVE Check In: All distance events (400 IM, 500 Freestyle, 1000 Freestyle, and 1650 Freestyle) must be circled in a half hour before the session begins. *******No shows after positive check in may be barred from the remainder of the meet. The meet referee and meet director will decide this together if there are no shows after positive check in. SEEDING: All events will be pre-seeded as Mixed Gender to improve the competition. All events will be scored separately as 10 and under, 11-12, 13-14, and The 1650, 1000, and 500 Freestyles are all Open events and will be seeded fastest to slowest. Swimmers must provide their own timers and counters for the 1650, 1000, and 500 Freestyles. The 400 IM s will be seeded slowest to fastest and swimmers must provide their own timers. ENTRIES Entries will be accepted by only. Please send them to ctorell@twcny.rr.com and a copy to fredleff@verizon.net Entry summary, waiver, and fees must be enclosed with entries, or for e- mailed entries, under separate cover to Michael Riley. All entrants must be registered members of USA Swimming. USA swimming registration numbers must appear on the entry form. Swimmer s age on the day of the meet determines age group. Swimmers will have a limit of five (5) individual events and 1 relay per swimmer on Saturday and five (5) individual events and 1 relay per swimmer on Sunday. All events in all sessions will count towards the meet entry limits per swimmer. There will be NO DECK ENTRIES. The meet will be pre-seeded. Coaches: Please estimate the times if swimmers have no times in any event. NT will not be accepted. Relays: The names of relay swimmers do not have to be supplied but make sure the swimmers are in compliance with the maximum number of entries. The meet director may limit the number of entries to ensure that each session is in compliance with the USA Swimming 4-hour rule. ENTRY Entry fee is $4.50 for individual events and $13.50 for relays. 4 ENTRY DEADLINE Entries must be received no later than Sunday January 11, 2015 by 12:00 NOON. ENTRY LIMIT: To maintain the quality of this meet, we may have to limit the entries in the 1650 Freestyle, 1000 Freestyle, 500 Freestyle, and 400 IM. All Swimmers may swim a maximum of 5 individual events on Saturday and 5 individual events on Sunday for a total of 10 individual events, plus one relay each day (2 relays maximum for the meet). TIMERS and COUNTERS: Swimmers shall provide their own timers for the 400 yard IM, 500 yard, 1000 yard, and 1650 yard Freestyles. In addition swimmers in the 500 yard, 1000 yard, and 1650 yard Freestyles must supply their own counters. AWARDS: Swimmers will not be allowed to pick up awards. Each team must designate a representative to pick up all awards for their team, except heat winners. 10 & Under: Medal first place, ribbons 2 nd - 12 th place. 11 and over: Medal first place, ribbons 2 nd - 6 th place. Relays: Medals first place, ribbons 2 nd -3 rd places. Heat Winner Ribbons will be awarded on deck at end of heat. Individual High Point trophies will be awarded in each age group and gender (10 and under, boys and girls, 11-12, boys and girls, 13 and 14, boys and girls, and 15 and over, boys and girls). Points: Will be awarded according to USA Swimming timed finals rules to 12 places. REFRESHMENTS: The concession will be in the cafeteria, located directly opposite the balcony. Food, assorted snacks, and beverages will be available throughout the meet. Hospitality for coaches and officials will be available throughout the meet. RULES USA Swimming and Niagara LSC rules and regulations will govern this meet. Niagara LSC Warm-up Guidelines for Sanctioned Meets in 6 Lane Pools will be followed. No swimmer will be permitted to compete unless the swimmer is a member as provided in Article 302. The meet will be seeded for timed finals. DECK ID: Only Swimmers, Coaches, Officials, and Meet Personal will be allowed on deck. Coaches and officials must wear and display their USA Swimming ID to ensure insurance coverage.

5 All Sessions: Swimmers must check in with the Clerk of Course or be scratched. Swimmers will be escorted from the gym to the pool. OFFICIALS: Visiting officials are always welcome; anyone interested in officiating any or all sessions of the meet please contact Fred Leff at (315) or by COACHES: Coaches meetings will start at 8:15 AM and 1:30 PM on Saturday and Sunday only if necessary on the pool deck. TIMERS: There will be a timer s meeting 15 minutes prior to each session. Please be ready to begin timing immediately after the meeting. This includes all visiting parents who plan on timing!!!! CONDUCT: Coaches and parents are responsible for the conduct of their swimmers at all times. An adult should be in the gym with the swimmers to ensure proper behavior. Swimmers misbehaving will be barred from further competition at this meet. 9 Niagara Swimming Inc. Warm-up Procedures for all Sanctioned Meets in 6 Lane Pools I. Pre-Meet warm-up period A. Control/Supervise Key words for safe warm-ups. B. Marshals should be actively supervising the warm-ups to ensure that proper procedures are followed. II. General warm-up period A. The first minutes are for general warm-ups in all lanes. B. There shall be NO DIVING off the blocks or the edge of the pool at this time. C. Inside Lanes Swimming and pulling only; no paddles. D. Outside Lanes Kicking only. E. No sprinting or pace work. III. Specific warm-up period A. Last minutes of pre-meet warm-up period. B. In a six lane pool, each lane shall be scheduled as follows: a. Lanes 1 & 6 push off one or two lengths & back, beginning at the starting end of the pool. Circle swimming only. b. Lanes 2 & 5 racing start only. Swim one length only. All swimmers begin at the starting end of the pool. c. Lanes 3 &4 general warm-up only (as above) NO DIVING. Important Points For Specific Warm-Up Period 1. No diving in lanes other than those designated for racing dives. The blocks should be marked to remind swimmers that they should not dive. 2. Start all swimmers in all lanes at the starting end of the pool. 3. Coaches should stand at the starting end of the pool when verbally starting swimmers on sprint or pace work. 4. Swimmers should be reminded by coaches that breaststrokers need more lead time than freestylers or butterfly swimmers. 5. Backstrokers should be reminded of the danger of leaving simultaneously with someone on the block. No one should be allowed on the starting block until the backstroker has executed his/her start. 6. The announcer should announce lane changes and/or warm-up changes as per general and specific. The announcer can serve as the reminder of procedures. 7. Coaches should maintain as much contact with their swimmers as possible verbal and visual throughout the warm-up period.

10 8. The Coaches should understand that responsibility for supervision of their swimmers is the same at meets as when on deck at practice. 9. Marshals have the authority through the Meet Director over the warmup. A swimmer and/or Coach may be removed from the deck for interfering with the Marshals. 10. When the number of participants for a meet session cannot be safely accommodated during the same warm-up period, warm up sessions should be split to provide a safe and adequate warm-up time for all. 11. The meet Referee shall have responsibility to establish and enforce rules for safe conduct within the competitive pool during the duration of the swimming competition. 12. The meet Safety Committee shall have responsibility for safety rules in all other areas during competition and shall assist the meet Referee in the competition pool if necessary. 13. The meet Safety Committee shall have any person deliberately violating safety rules removed from the meet facility. 14. There shall be at least one Marshal at each end of the pool to ensure the warm-up procedures will be followed. 15. Warm-up procedures shall be enforced for any breaks scheduled during the competition. 16. Discretion and common sense must be used when establishing procedures. The above procedures may modify by the meet Referee according to the needs of the meet. Travel Directions: From the North: Take I-81 South to Syracuse. Exit at Hiawatha Boulevard (Carousel Center). Take a right at the light onto Hiawatha Boulevard. Follow the signs to I-690 West. Take I-690 West. Near the New York State Fairgrounds, exit to the right onto New York State Route 695, to 5, Auburn. In two miles, 695 splits into route 5 to Auburn and 695 to Fairmount. Bear right and take route 5 west towards Auburn. Take the exit for Hinsdale Road. At end of ramp, take a left turn. Go straight through several intersections, then up a hill. Stay on Hinsdale and when you reach a light at West Genesee Street, West Genesee High School will be straight ahead. Go into the parking lot, turn left around the building, and park near the athletic field. The pool entrance is near the maintenance garage. From the South: Take I-81 North to Syracuse. In downtown Syracuse, I-81 becomes two lanes for a short time. In about one mile, two lanes merge on the right. Immediately after this merge,

11 move into the right lane and take the exit for I-690 West towards the New York State Fairgrounds. Near the New York State Fairgrounds, exit to the right onto New York State Route 695, to 5, Auburn. In two miles, 695 splits into route 5 to Auburn and 695 to Fairmount. Bear right and take route 5 west until the exit for Hinsdale Road. At end of ramp, take a left turn. Go straight through several intersections, then up a hill. Stay on Hinsdale and when you reach a light at West Genesee Street, West Genesee High School will be straight ahead. Go into the parking lot, turn left around the building, and park near the athletic field. The pool entrance is near the maintenance garage. From the West: Take route 5 East towards Syracuse. You will come to a light at Ike Dixon Road. Continue straight, and soon (within a mile) after the light, there is an exit for Route 5 to the right. Take the right, and now you will be on a divided highway. Look for the exit for Milton Avenue. At end of the exit ramp, take a left turn. Stay on Milton Avenue until you reach Hinsdale Road. You should see a Home Depot ahead on the left and a small strip mall on your right. Take a right turn and stay on Hinsdale. When you reach a light at West Genesee Street, West Genesee High School will be straight ahead. Go into the parking lot, turn left around the building, and park near the athletic field. The pool entrance is near the maintenance garage. From the East: Take I-690 into Syracuse. Stay on it until you near the New York State Fairgrounds.
