3 Getting Started with the VA DAP App Installing the VA DAP App The VA DAP app is compatible with ios 7.0 and higher. 1. Search the App Store for VA DAP. -or- Scan the QR code to the right. 2. Install the app. Logging into the App Figure 1 VA DAP Login Screen Figure 2 VA DAP Home Screen Figure 3 Logout Button 1. Tap the VA DAP app icon on the device s home screen. The VA DAP login screen is displayed (Figure 1). 2. Complete the Username and Password fields. The username and password are the ones you created when you registered for the conference. 3. If you wish to save your username and password so that you do not have to retype them on future logins, slide the Save Username/Password? slider to the right. Note that your login information will be saved for 24 hours since your last login. 4. Tap the Login button. The home screen is displayed. The Components area lists the components contained within the app (Figure 2). Page 1

4 Opening and Closing Components 1. Tap a component to open it. 2. Tap the Main Menu button in the upper-left corner to return to the main app screen. Logging out of the VA DAP App 1. Tap the user name at the bottom of the screen (Figure 2). A Logout button is displayed. 2. Tap the Logout button (Figure 3). A confirmation window is displayed. 3. Tap the Logout button. You are logged out and returned to the login screen. Resetting Your Password If you forget your password, you can reset it at any time. 1. On the login screen (Figure 1), enter your address in the Username field. 2. Tap the Forgot Password? link. A browser window opens, displaying a six-digit password. 3. Return to the VA DAP app. 4. Enter the six-digit password in the Password field. 5. Tap the Login button. Using an ipad The VA DAP app can be used on both iphones and ipads. For the most part, app functionality is identical. However, please note that ipads display the app in landscape orientation only. Page 2

5 Using the My Schedule Component The My Schedule component provides a list of the meetings you scheduled using the matches that were returned based on the profile you completed online. Nov 17 Nov 18 Nov 19 Figure 4 Events List Figure 5 Event Details 1. Tap the My Schedule component. A list of your scheduled events is displayed, filtered by day (Figure 4). 2. To view a different day, tap the day at the top of the screen (Figure 4). Page 3

Within the event details, tap the Info button to view more details about the event host (Figure 6). i. Within the host details, tap the Info button to view other sessions presented by the same host. ii. Within the host details, tap the the session host. 7 Using the Event Agenda Component 1. Tap the Event Agenda component. A list of the events scheduled at the conference is displayed, filtered by day (Figure 9). 2. To view the presentation from a session, tap the Presentation button (Figure 10). The presentation is displayed onscreen (Figure 11). 4. To return to the event list, tap the Close button at the bottom of the screen. 5. To search for an event, tap the date you wish to search, type the search text in the Search field (Figure 9), and tap the Done button. 6. Tap the Main Menu button in the upper-left corner to return to the main app screen. Page 5

8 Using the Search Profiles Component 1. Tap the Search Profiles component. The search profiles screen is displayed (Figure 17). To quickly view all participants or activity hosts, click the drop-down button on the main search profiles screen and select the desired option. The screen filters to show only the selected profiles (Figure 12). Using the Advanced Filter 1. To filter for profiles in more detail, tap the Add Filters button. The Advanced Filter screen is displayed (Figure 13). 2. To find activity hosts, click the drop-down menu and select Activity Hosts. a. To find activity hosts by name, company, agency, or division, enter the search criteria in the appropriate field(s). b. To find activity hosts by industry, organization type, or work function, select the appropriate options from the drop-down fields. c. When you have completed all applicable search criteria, tap the Search button. The search results are displayed onscreen (Figure 14). d. Tap an activity host to view more details. Page 6

9 e. Within the host details, tap the Info button to view other sessions presented by the same host. f. Within the host details, tap the Info button to view business opportunities with the session host. g. At any time, tap the Back button to return to the previous screen. To find participants by name, company, agency, or division, enter the search criteria in the appropriate field(s). b. To find participants by industry, work function, socioeconomic category, and whether they are VOSB verified, select the appropriate options from the drop-down fields. c. When you have completed all applicable search criteria, tap the Search button. The search results are displayed onscreen (Figure 16). d. Tap a participant to view more details. e. At any time, tap the Back button to return to the previous screen. Page 7

10 Using the Favorite Contacts List Your Favorites list gives you a quick way to access frequently used contacts. 1. Use profile search to locate the contact. 2. Tap the Add button next to the contact s name (Error! Reference source not found.). he contact is added to your favorites list. 3. To view the Favorites list, tap the Favorites button at the top of any profile search screen. The Favorites list is displayed (Error! Reference source not found.). 4. Tap a contact to view the contact details. 5. To remove a contact from the Favorites list, view the contact details, then tap the Remove button next to the contact s name (Error! Reference source not found.). Using the Event Info Component The Event Info screen displays the mobile website for the VA DAP conference to provide you with easy access to all the information you may need. To jump to a different page, tap the Navigate drop-down menu at the top of the screen. A spinner box is displayed at the bottom of the window (Figure 18). Swipe the spinner to the desired page, then tap the Done button. The selected page is displayed (Figure 19). 3. Tap the Main Menu button in the upper-left corner to return to the main app screen. 11 Using the Event Map Component The event map component provides several floor plans of the venue, allowing you to find session rooms with ease. Tap the area you wish to see. The floorplan is displayed (Figure 21). 3. Swipe the floor plan in any direction to pan to a different area. 4. Pinch out to zoom in; pinch in to zoom out. 5. Tap the Main Menu button in the upper-left corner to return to the main app screen. Page 9

12 Using the My Dashboard Component The My Dashboard component gives you mobile access to the dashboard of the NVSBE 2015 website. Figure 23 My Dashboard Home Screen 1. Tap the My Dashboard component. The dashboard of the VA DAP website is displayed in a browser window. 2. Tap the Main Menu button in the upper-left corner to return to the main app screen. Page 10

13 Using the Session Ratings Component The Session Ratings component allows you to complete a session feedback form within the VA DAP app. Figure 24 Session Ratings Component 1. Tap the Session Ratings component. The feedback form is displayed (Figure 24). 2. To enter the name of the session in the Title field, tap in the text field and enter the title using the device s keyboard (Figure 24). 3. To answer the session feedback questions, tap in the text field and enter your answer using the device s keyboard (Figure 24). 4. To answer the numeric rating questions, tap the number, then tap the appropriate rating. 5. To submit your responses, click the Submit button at the bottom of the window. 6. Tap the Main Menu button in the upper-left corner to return to the main app screen. Page 11

14 Viewing a Notification Message The Notifications function allows event organizers to send messages to users who have installed the app. The message contains a title and either text or a URL. The Notifications area at the bottom of the screen will indicate that you have a message waiting (Figure 25). Tap the Notifications number to view the notification screen (Figure 26). 2. Tap a notification to view the message (Figure 27). 3. Tap the Notifications button in the upper-left corner of the screen to return to the notifications list. 4. To delete read messages by category, tap the Clear All button for the category. Page 12
