Credit Hours: 3 Lecture Hours: 3 Lab Hours: 0 Prerequisite(s) Successful completion of the previous semester. RAD are in the same cohort and must be taken during the same semester. Intended Course Goals By the end of the semester, students will be able to: 1. Describe radiation-induced chemical reactions and potential biologic damage. 2. Evaluate factors influencing radiobiologic/biophysical events at the cellular and subcellular level. 3. Describe physical, chemical and biologic factors influencing radiation response of cells and tissues. 4. Demonstrate application of occupational radiation exposure protection, including the principles of time, distance, shielding and ALARA 5. Handle radiation protection devices that are common to all radiographic equipment
