2 The main activity of the Group is the storage and transportation of oil products. For this purpose, we provide oil operators doing business in Spain with one of the largest and most efficient integrated oil product transport and storage networks in the world. Aviación forms part of this Group, and is present at the majority of Spanish airports offering services for the storage, distribution and into-plane fuelling of aviation fuels and lubricants. Group

4 The Pipeline Dispatching Centre controls and manages the entire pipeline network of the company to ensure its correct operation and to monitor the transportation of fuels at all times. This modern control centre operates 24 hours a day every day of the year, and has a satellite communications system that enables information to be updated every 5 seconds with 99.9% reliability, as well as backup systems using IP technology via land lines. Data flow Control of the network involves a data flow of over 70,000 signals furnished by an extensive range of field instruments: pressure, flow, temperature, density, tank levels, the status of valves and equipment, controls, etc. The company stores historical records of this data at the dispatching centre itself, which guarantees the availability of this information. 5 Product transport programming In a pipeline network such as the one operated by, product transport programming that reconciles availability at refineries, supply requirements and transportation capacity, using optimisation criteria for the consumption of energy and product quality, is essential. The Logistics Planning unit, which falls under the direction of the Commercial Management department, is responsible for carrying out this job and, assisted by modern, sophisticated logistics programming tools, the unit issues the pumping programmes that are then executed at the Dispatching Centre. Facilities The activity carried out at the Dispatching Centre is supported by the Facilities with personnel available around the clock to attend to requests from the Dispatching Centre operators. The complete pipeline route is regularly patrolled on foot, on vehicle and aerial inspections by low-flying aircraft are made in order to check that there have been no variations in the terrain and that no activities that are potentially harmful to the pipeline have been carried out. also performs internal inspections of the pipes with special equipment for checking that they are in perfect condition. 6 The Dispatching operation is supported in real time by a control system called SCADA (Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition), cutting-edge technology that provides precise information on the functioning of the network. This system gathers, records and transmits all the operation data and variables of the pipelines, which means that prevention measures can be adopted and action taken immediately if necessary. It also has computer applications, such as leak detection models, product monitoring (batch tracking), quality control of the fuels being transported, simulators and training applications for operators. These programmes include control logics that provide the operation with assistance and safety. All the Dispatching Centre systems, e.g. SCADA, applications, log-file and communications, are duplicated and fitted with their own power support installations which provides the activity with a high level of safety and continuity. In addition, there is an alternative Control Centre that would come into operation if it should be needed for any reason. 7 All members of the team responsible for operating the pipelines have the high level of training and experience required for exercising efficient, safe control over the network. Their responsibilities include: Keeping operation within a safe environment, The analysis and processing of information, Prevention and detection of possible faults or malfunctioning in the equipment, Determination of product changes and interface shut-down, Start-up or shut-down of pumping units, Identification of the consignment points that control flows and pressures, Injection of process additives such as corrosion inhibitors or friction reducers, etc., The first courses of action in the event of an emergency, in accordance with the instructions given in the pipeline network Emergency Plan.
