1 Base series: How to read the marking Not suitable for use on fire/smoke doors Suitable for use on fire/smoke doors A A Category of use Durability Door mass Fire resistance Life safety Corrosion resistance Security Projection of bar Type of bar operation Field of use. There is only one category comprising a frequent use by the public or by other people lacking attention, i.e. when an accident or improper use are likely to happen. Service life. There are 2 service life categories: grade 6: 100,000 operations grade 7: 200,000 operations Door weight. There are two weight categories: grade 5: up to 100 kg grade 6: up to 200 kg Fire resistance. There are two fire resistance categories: grade 0 = not suitable for fire/smoke-resistant doors grade 1 = suitable for fire/smoke-resistant doors People s safety. There is only one category representing the max. grade, since panic exit must ensure people s safety. Corrosion resistance. There are two categories as per pren1670: grade 3 = high resistance, grade 4 = very high resistance. Goods safety. There is only one category representing the minimum grade since goods safety must be considered secondary compared to people s safety. Bar projection. There are 2 categories: grade 1 = bar projection up to mm 150 (normal) grade 2 = bar projection up to mm 100 (reduced) Bar operation. There are 2 types of operations: A = panic exit device operated by push rod (Idea) B = panic exit device operated by contact rod (Push-Bar).
