4 Moventas Factory Services Repair, Overhaul & Upgrade Services Quality Counts Moventas offers professional, high quality factory and service center workmanship to its own gearboxes and to gearboxes manufactured by others. Repairs, overhauls, modernizations and upgrades can also be made to other drive train components and accessories. Our factory repair, overhaul and upgrade processes use only the latest drive technology and know-how to guarantee customer satisfaction. Decades of experience Moventas factory repair, overhaul and upgrade service processes are tried and tested with over 70 years of experience and evolution behind them. From incoming inspection of the gearbox and its component parts, refurbishment or replacement of key components, through to load testing, final assembly and return to the customer. The same processes are also applied to accessories and other associated drive-train components. Any gearbox received by Moventas will be fully assessed and options for repair, overhaul and/or upgrade to the latest state of the art will be relayed to the customer. Upon the instruction of the customer we carry out the work requested. At all Moventas Factory sites and at selected service centres testing of the repaired gear is carried out as standard practice. 4

5 Moventas Factory Services Warranty All Moventas factory repaired, overhauled and upgraded gearboxes are subject to a warranty on repaired gears and parts. All parts used by us are Moventas own brand components or approved components from approved qualified manufacturers. Moventas Factory Fitted Accessories Gearboxes returned to Moventas can be factory fitted with some or all accessories depending on the customer s requirement. It is now common practice do testing to a repaired or a replacement gear with factory fitted accessories and reduce the amount of work required by the customer on site. 5

8 Moventas CMaS Peace of Mind CMaS by Moventas The Moventas Condition Management System (CMaS) is a state-of-the-art service for preventive maintenance of both wind and industrial gears, minimizing downtime and maximizing the lifetime of your machinery. CMaS offers you reliable, real-time, measurement -based information from the gearbox and associated equipment. CMaS can be retrofitted to existing gearboxes or factory fitted to new gearboxes. CMaS measures, records and analyzes data, reporting any changes in measured parameters in real time via the Internet 24/7. With the Moventas Remote Diagnostics service you know your equipment is in good hands. A Moventas gear specialist monitors your equipment online and all the observations with recommendations are reported to you directly. If you prefer, you can even monitor your equipment and process the information yourself. For industrial gear applications, the Moventas CMaS can handle a large number of different parameters from multiple measurable locations. Thus, it is suitable for all production process machine and equipment condition monitoring, needing only a single tool for remote monitoring throughout the process. This reliable and process-tailored tool provides the best overall performance, ensuring process availability and entire lifecycle cost effectiveness. Our trained engineers and technicians are able to travel where ever and whenever needed to provide on-site or up-tower repairs. We only use Moventas-manufactured original components, OEM-approved components, or components of our former brands Metso Drives, Valmet, Asea, Wärtsilä and Rauma-Repola, as well as our currently owned brands Santasalo and Sauerwald. Moventas now provides the new Man & Van Service in Finland and Germany. Located close to our customers this Man & Van Service offers rapid response, high quality field maintenance and service both to our own brand and to gears manufactured by others. 10

11 We ll climb up Latest Service Offering when you need us Moventas performs top-quality up-tower service for both Moventas and competitor models, which is a major saving for O&Ms and hence makes wind power even more competitive than before. We can perform on-site inspections and repairs of high speed, low speed and intermediate assemblies on our own gearboxes as well as competitor models. Our goal is to significantly shorten response time, reduce customer cost and to continue to lead the industry in repairs that can be done on-site rather than in a workshop. By utilizing a mobile service unit and a small hydraulic crane, up-tower repair eliminates the costs associated with mobilizing large boom and secondary cranes normally required to bring the complete gearbox down from the nacelle. Shipping costs to and from the workshop are also eliminated, as well as the cost of the longer downtime of the turbine. The custom-built Mobile Service Units designed by Moventas leading service technicians are stocked with proprietary up-tower tools and equipped with cutting and welding capabilities, making it possible to offer a wider range of on-site services than ever before. Every Moventas up-tower repair contains a CMaS installation. All up-tower repairs are carried out by our experienced field service personnel, all qualified and trained to work safely at heights. 11
